Writing Choose a writing prompt from the August writing calendar (homework binder) Math Go to the class webpage, click on “fun links”, then play “Math Facts Fluency” Practice math facts(using flashcards or create your own using index cards) Math: Math Facts We will practice fluently adding and subtracting math facts within 10 using mental strategies. Spelling Choose an activity from the Speller’s Choice Board Watch the S.O.S video on the class blog under the “homework resources” tab and practice with your spelling words (who, what, when) Writing: Writing Workshop Launch We will continue writing personal narratives and focusing on small moments when we write. Great writers magnify small moments by adding details. Reading Read for 20 minutes Practice jotting down questions as you read – who, what, when, where, how, and why. Now try to find the answer! Science/SS/Health: Regions of Georgia/Rivers We will finish up the nutrition unit and begin learning about the Regions of Georgia ((Piedmont, Valley and Ridge, Appalachian Plateau, Blue Ridge Mountains, and Coastal Plain). We will locate and compare the Regions of Georgia & locate rivers on a physical map.
