Daily Homework Folder The left side of the folder will include homework and notes from school that will need to be returned the next day The right side of the folder will have papers that need to stay home Needs to be brought to school EVERYDAY.

Homework (Daily Reading) Read 15 minutes daily and record on Book Baggie Record sheet

Homework (Weekly Homework Packet) A packet will be sent home on Monday and is due on Friday. Inside the packet will be a fluency piece, a math sheet and spelling practice.

Homework and Grading Policy Work will be considered complete when it is done on time and is of acceptable quality. Students will miss recess if school work and/or homework is not completed. If a student is absent from school on the day an assignment is due, there will be no penalty if the work is turned in when the student returns to school. Students are required to complete all work that is missed due to an absence. Check your child’s homework folder daily.

Child Absent? Please call the office to request any missing homework and explain how it is to be sent home for your child. Write and send in a note detailing reason for absence

Snack Please send a snack to school with your child everyday. Your child may bring in a special treat on his or her birthday if they wish to do so. Please send in at least 22, along with napkins.

Children need help and support at home in order to be successful Try to create a quiet place for your child to study and devote time every day when your child can concentrate on academics uninterrupted by friends, siblings or other distractions How You Can Help Your Child at Home

Some Activities You Can Do to Support Learning at Home: ELA Listen to your child read and have them tell you about the characters and what is happening in the book! Practice spelling and sight words Math Practice basic addition and subtraction facts. Have your child tell you what time it is to the hour and half hour. Give your child a handful of coins and have them tell the name and value of each coin.

Parent-Teacher Communication Sent home every Friday

Classroom Behavior Plan Students are rewarded for their good behavior. If a student is not following the rules they will loss free time at the end of the day. Gold = Exceptional day (given out when something exceptional has been done) Green = great day Yellow = lose 10 minutes Red = lose 20 minutes If a student continues to not follow the rules after their card has been moved to red a phone call will be made to the parent.

Contact Information Mrs. Almeter (Ext. 4025)

Reminders From Mrs. Giannicchi Attendance is extremely important! School starts at 9:05 and ends at 3:25. Tardy and early release will result in your child missing important content. Please follow dismissal procedures to ensure that all students are accounted for accordingly. Please send in a note in the am if your child has an appointment and will be leaving school early. This will allow time for the teacher to gather and organize your child’s classwork that he/she will be missing. Transportation for the child cannot be changed after 2:45pm. Please do not call directly into a child’s classroom during the day. It disrupts the instructional process. Please call the main office if you have a question. If your child is sick, please call the nurses office in the am to let us know.

Parent Pick-Up If your child will be a regular pick-up please register with Debbie in the main office. Pick-up will be in the auditorium. The outside doors in front of the auditorium will be open at 3:25. Anyone picking up the child will be asked to show ID and sign the child out in the designated book. Parking will be available in the front lot and in the circle. All busses will be in the back of the school.
