Writing Choose a writing prompt from the February writing calendar Spend time editing/ revising once you have finished your piece Math: 1 and 2 Step Word Problems We will learn how to use addition and subtraction strategies to solve 1 and 2 step word problems within 100. Math IXL Use the “Problem Solving/ Word Problem” link on our class web page to practice 2 step word problems within 100 Writing: Opinion Writing We will learn how to write an opinion piece by introducing the topic, stating an opinion, supplying reasons that support the opinion, using linking words and providing a closing statement. Spelling Choose an activity from the February Speller’s Choice activity sheet S.O.S for the weekly words – more, really, said Reading Read aloud for 20 minutes Raz Kids Science: Juliette Gordon Low We will identify and describe the contributions of Juliette Gordon Low and how she adapted or was influenced by her environment.
