August 22, 2011 Welcome to Ms. Wu’s math class! Please do the following quietly: 1.Check the seating chart on the computer table and sit in your assigned seat. Place belongings underneath your chair. 2.One person from each table go to the white drawer and grab the manila folder for you table. 3.Start filling out the student information card and create name tent. 4.Place your schedule inside the manila folder.

Entrance Expectations 1.Greet Ms. Wu at the door. 2.Get out homework and other materials. 3.Check out the agenda and copy homework into planner. 4.1 person go to the drawer and grab table’s folder. 5.Check homework with grading pen (no pencils out). 6.Work individually on the warm-up. Warm-ups will either be in the folder or projected on the screen.

Supplies 1. System of organization – Recommended: graph paper spiral/notebook [NOTES] + either a binder, folder, or portfolio [HOMEWORK, CLASSWORK, WARM-UPS, ASSESSMENTS, ETC.] 2. Pencils with good erasers – Trade ID for a borrowed pencil 3. Colored pen for grading (no black or yellow) 4. Planner

Bell System 1 ring: Stop what you’re doing, Ms. Wu wants your eyes and ears. 2 rings: Still require everyone’s attention. 3 rings: Class stays 30 seconds after the bell rings. No music privileges.

How to Access the Site and Syllabus Read over the syllabus and get signatures for the parent acknowledgement form and the course packet. If you don’t have access to the internet or a printer, see me.

About Me I graduated from Lanier, Bellaire, and Rice University. I also attended the University of Washington in Seattle and UT-Austin. While at Lanier, I played volleyball, basketball, and participated in MathCOUNTS and chess.

Exit Expectations 1.Return materials to original location, return any borrowed items, and clean up area. 2.Wait for me to dismiss, not the bell. 3.Push in chairs before you leave the room.
