2. Classwork: Proportional and Non- Proportional Relationships Use the colored blocks to build the patterns and fill in the table. Once you’re done filling in the table, start creating the graph. If you finish the graph early, start on the questions in your notebook.

Vocabulary Proportional relationship: a relationship between two variable quantities x and y, where y is a constant multiple of x.  y = k x  straight line goes through the origin Constant of Proportionality (or Variation): the constant multiplier (k); what you constantly multiply the x-values by to get the y-values a.k.a. “scale factor” or “unit rate” y / x
