1 Bienvenue au français I ! Le Premier Exercice 1. Use the name tags on the desk and the poster on the board to find your seat. 2. Write your name in the name plate of the textbook on your desk. 3. Begin to fill out the Essential Information card and the Student Information sheet.

4 Guideline #1 Be in your assigned seat and working on Le Premier Exercice when the bell rings. Guideline #2 Bring your textbook and all necessary materials to class and take them with you when you leave. Classroom Guidelines

5 Necessary Materials Discovering French Bleu textbook A writing utensil, preferably a blue or black pen A 1.5 or 2 inch three-ring binder. Notebook dividers. A pack of 3” x 5” index cards (can be left at home).

6 Guideline #4 Guideline #3 Treat each person in this room with respect and dignity. Follow directions the first time they are given.

7 Guideline # 5 Follow all procedures and policies as outlined in Brighton High School handbook.

12 When you are late Enter quietly Excused: Place pass in your class’s folder in the attendance binder. Unexcused: Sign detention list in the attendance binder. Have a seat and take out your materials.

13 Paper Heading IF there is not pre-assigned space to put your name, follow the following guidelines: Write or type your name in the upper left-hand corner of the paper, with the date and your block.

14 Turning in Assignments Homework - Except when otherwise noted, all homework for the week is due the following Monday at the beginning of class. - Place your name on the assignments and put it in the appropriate box. If you are missing an assignment or receive a failing grade, you may resubmit the assignment the following week for partial credit.

15 Student Responsibility Form This is for students who do not have the assigned homework Fill it out Sign and date it Turn it in with the homework papers You need to complete a form for each assignment that is missing.

17 Turning in Assignments Classwork - Place the assignments in a pile on the upper right hand corner of the desk until we are ready to turn them in. - When asked, pass the stack of assignments to the table to your right. - Once all of the assignments are as far to the right as they can go, pass them forward.

18 Turning in Assignments Projects and Presentations - Written projects follow the homework policy. If you want to email them to me, I must receive it by 7:30 AM on the day it is due. - Oral Presentations are due on the assignment date. If you are absent, you will not receive a grade on the assignment unless the absence is excused.

19 Turning in Assignments Tests and Quizzes - Once you have finished, turn your paper face down and wait for others to finish. - When time is up, place your papers still face down on the corner of the desk. - Pass them forward following the classwork procedure.

20 I have finished. I can… Start working on my French homework. Finish a some missing assignments. Review my flashcards. Work on your portfolio. Organize your binder. Complete a review activity. Read a book.

21 When you return from being absent, Go to the Daily Assignments Binder. This binder will be up to date for the previous school week. Look at L’Emploi du Temps. Retrieve any handouts or copy the directions of any assignments. If there is a test or quiz, make an appointment to do make-up.

22 Scheduled check out Please let me know as you enter the classroom. ◦ I will be at the door. Quietly raise your hand to get my attention. Pack your materials and leave at the scheduled time. If it is an emergency, quickly get my attention and I will assist you.

23 Classroom Discussions PLEASE participate. I want to hear what you have to say. Make all questions and comments relevant to the current discussion. If your question is off the topic, write it down and ask later.

24 Moving around the room Beginning of class or during independent work time - Unless you need supplies from the resource table or need to turn in your homework, please stay in your seat. During a mini-lesson or class discussion. - Do not ask during a classroom discussion unless it is an emergency.

25 Class Dismissal The teacher dismisses you, not the bell. Do not start packing up prior to the bell. Wait until the teacher finishes and officially dismisses you with: “Bonne journée ! A demain ! ”
