Welcome to Open House! Mrs. Grau’s 3 rd Grade

Grade Level Expectations 3 rd graders will be taking a Reading and Math FSA in the spring (schedule to come). Students are expected to pass in order to meet grade level criteria.

Arrival and Dismissal Bus and Car Locations Car Riders need a sign in window Students are let into classroom at 8:40. Students need to be here by 8:40. If late, students must receive a tardy pass. Before/Aftercare located in cafeteria

Before School Procedure Students may eat breakfast in the cafeteria. At 8:15 students are to report to the airnasium. Students should sit and read until 8:40 AM. Students should NOT walk around the school.

Way Home It is very important that your child know how he/she gets home. If we do not know, please expect a phone call Monday morning. All Way Home forms must be left here with me today. Please take a “car” sign with you and place it in your car.

Supplies Supply list can be found on the Pines Charter website under “East Campus”. Supplies are due by Wednesday, 8/26. Each child will also need a dry erase board. Code Red snack bags are due by Friday, 8/28. Each child must bring1 ream of copy paper and ½ an hour of donation will be given.

Agenda Homework must be written verbatim Spelling Words and Vocabulary Words for the week will be written in their agenda. Agenda must be brought to school everyday. The agenda may also be used as a form of communication. Please let you child know to show me their agenda if you have written me a note.

Homework Policy Students will receive homework daily Homework stays inside folders or workbooks and will be checked and collected in the morning. Incomplete and no homework will result in a color change. Homework assignments are 10% of their grade.

Late Work Students will have up to the next day to turn in late assignments. After that, the assignment will drop a letter grade (for ex: current event, studies weekly). Late projects/reports will drop a letter grade daily.

Test Folders Test Folders will go out every 2 weeks. Inside the folder an acknowledgement sheet will be provided. Please make sure to sign and return the sheet along with all of the assessments inside the folder. If you have any concerns, please fill out the sheet and I will contact you to discuss any concerns you may have. The folders must be returned by the next school day.

AR BOOKS Students are required to read an AR book on their assigned color level. AR is 5 % of their reading grade. Your child will receive 2 grades, one for their average and the other one for the percentage of goal met. Students need to read daily for 30 min. AR goals are set and must be met quarterly.

Behavior Green—I had a great day! Yellow—Warning! Blue – Think About it! Red—Parent Contact/ If behavior continues a possible detention may be given.

Conference Procedures I am unavailable on Tuesdays due to faculty meetings. I can meet any other week day at 8:15 a.m. Afternoon meetings will be scheduled at 3:30 p.m. An will be sent to confirm meetings.

Service Hours Required to serve 30 hours total per family Donations upon request only (1/2 hour) Hours can be purchased (see the front office) If you have a donation that is worth more than ½ hr. time, please see Ms. Joan or Ms. Tricia in the front office.
