Take Home Folders You will have a T.E.A.M. folder that will be taken home each night. It must be stamped or initialed by your teacher and signed by your parents DAILY. This folder will contain homework sheets, graded papers, weekly newsletters, discipline information, and notes from the teacher. Please keep this in your binder so you don’t lose it! All school communication (fridge reminders, school newsletters, etc.) will be placed in your Granger Folder on Thursdays.

Proper Heading Students must have their number, name and subject in the upper left hand corner of their paper. The date goes on the upper right hand corner and the Title of the assignment goes on the top line. See below example: Alison Sheffield #1Tuesday Subject – S.August 25, 2009 Title

Our Grading Scale 90-100% = A 80-89% = B 70-79% = C Below 70% = F E = Excellent S = Satisfactory N = Needs Improvement U = Unsatisfactory Grades are calculated on cumulative percentage and are rounded up whenever possible. Grading Procedures A numerical grade is given in LA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. An E, S, N, or U is given in PE, Music, and Art. An E, S, N, or U is for given for Conduct and Study Habits both in the room and in Specials.

Conduct Grades The number of checks you earn over a six- week period determines conduct grades. If you break one of the major rules, you will fill out a Behavior Modification Sheet that will be signed by the teacher, the student, and the parent. This form must be returned to the teacher the following school day.

Late Work Policy Students shall be assessed a penalty of 10 points per day for up to three days for work not turned in on time. Extenuating circumstances will be given consideration, and exceptions will require approval of the campus principal or designee. Late work turned in after three days will be assessed a maximum 30 point deduction. If the work is not turned in before the last day of the six-weeks grading period, a grade of zero will be assigned. An assignment is considered late if it is not turned in the day after it is assigned. If an assignment is not turned in, I will note it in their folder. Please check the students planner AND folder everyday for homework assignments. Every late homework assignment results in a check.

Absent Work When you are absent, a While You Were Out form will be placed on your desk. This form will have written on it all the assignments missed from the day of the absence. Also, any worksheet that was handed out on the day you missed will be stamped with an “Absent” stamp. This work will not be counted late, so long as it is turned in on the make-up day. You will have two days to make up the missing work. If the work is not turned on the make-up day, it will be treated as late work.

Homework 1. We will assign students minimal homework over concepts they have already worked on in class. Students should feel a great sense of success while doing their work at home because they have shown success on similar problems/assignments in class. 2. The majority of homework will be assigned each Monday. There may be times when other work may be assigned during the week. 3. We will provide incentives for completing homework. 4. Homework will not only be written on the board, but also in their TEAM folder and on our websites. Please check our websites for additional resources regarding homework. 5. Your will need to keep your daily homework inside your folder and return this to class on a daily basis. We may be checking homework from the night before, or doing an activity with the last night’s work and you will need to have it to be prepared for class.
