 Welcome / Announcements – (5 minutes)  Attendance – (4 minutes)  Discuss syllabus and daily classroom procedures – (50 minutes)  Questions and Concerns – (5 minutes)  Summarize today’s activities and discuss tomorrow’s outlook. - (5 minutes)

 Sports & Entertainment Marketing is designed so that you develop a thorough understanding of marketing concepts that theories that apply to sports and events.

 This is an elective class. However, if you plan to major in business, sports, or sports administration this is an extremely important class for your future.

 Explore the ins and outs of marketing.  Understand why companies market their products / services a certain way.  Develop a fantasy football franchise and control all marketing aspects for that franchise.  Develop and market new products.  Create marketing tools for Moore Athletics

 Absolutely, positively.  This class is a very intense, hands on course. We will have in depth lectures for the first two weeks and as you gain an understanding of marketing you will then be expected to use those concepts daily in class.

 Grades will be based upon:  Daily Participation (25 Points per week)  Activities / Quizzes (Varies 5 to 100 points)  Tests / Projects (Varies 100 to 600 points)  Paydays / Exit Slips (50 points per week)

1. Arrive to class with all personal needs taken care of and in your seat before the tardy bell rings (You are only allowed 2 hall passes during the trimester). 2. Come to class prepared to learn (Pencils sharpened, materials in hand, and homework finished). 3. Respect all property in the class (School property, your property, and other people’s property). 4. Respect all ideas given in class and do not criticize anyone’s thoughts or ideas.

ALL SCHOOL RULES APPLY IN THIS CLASSROOM.  No Cell phones, I-Pods, Earphones, etc  Dress code must be followed EVERY SINGLE DAY.

 We begin EACH day with a payday that is located on the projection screen using PowerPoint.  You are responsible for completing EVERY payday.  Each payday is considered a small quiz and is awarded 10 pts.  The paydays will vary from day to day, but mainly focusing on something learned the day before.  We will grade the paydays in class everyday.  These are turned in and the points accumulate at the end of each work for a total of 50 points.

 I dismiss you everyday – once we have SUMMARIZED the day’s activities.  Remain in your seat until the dismissal bell rings. If everyone is not in a seat, we WILL NOT dismiss.  Your work area must be CLEAN and in order before we dismiss. DO NOT TALK WHILE I AM SPEAKING. Respect is the most important aspect to my classroom procedures. If you respect me, my classroom, and your classmates – you will receive respect in return.

 You are given one manila folder to keep all class work in. This folder REMAINS in the classroom and on the gray table in the APPROPRIATE box, filed NEATLY.  DO NOT LOG-IN to the computers unless permission is given.  When computer access is granted, you must log- in with your PERSONAL USERNAME and PASSWORD.  Computer backgrounds and settings WILL NOT be changed.

 What if the fire alarm sounds while in class?  We will exit through Exit 29 meet as a class directly outside by the light pole, so attendance can be taken.  What if the tornado alarm sounds while in class?  We will meet as a class in the girl’s PE locker room and take cover.  What if the earthquake alarm sounds while in class?  We will crawl under our desk and cover our heads!

 What if the intruder alarm sounds while in class?  We will turn out all lights and gather at the front of the room and remain silent until safety has been confirmed.  What if you need to discuss a grade or personal issue with Ms. Tracy?  All grades and personal issues need to be discussed outside of class. Please set up an appointment either before or after school to discuss any matters. However, feel free to me at any time to discuss any questions or concerns you might have.

 When do we eat lunch?  FIRST LUNCH. We dismiss at 12:10 and you are expected to be back in your seat ready to work at 12:40.  If you are late, you will be admitted to class; however, your name will be submitted to Mr. Nicholson.

 Read the story, “Got to Be the Shoes” and answer the two questions that follow on the back of the sheet of paper.  Turn in the story and questions to the 4 th period tray.  Begin on your homework. (Who Am I?)
