1 CLASS RULES 1. Be in your assigned seat when the bell RINGS. 2. Be prepared for class by bringing all necessary books and materials to class. You will not be allowed to return to your locker. 3. No personal grooming during class time. 4. Follow directions the FIRST time they are given.

2 5. Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself. 6. Be considerate and respectful of others. There will be no picking on others or bullying in this class. 7. Raise your hand and wait for permission to speak.

3 Consequences: 1 st Time: Warning 2nd Time: 5 sets of facts (-10 participation) 3rd Time: 9 sets of facts (-10 more) 4th Time: 13 sets of facts (-10 more) 5 th Time: 17 sets of facts (-10 more) 6 th Time: 21 sets of facts (-10 more) 7 th Time: 25 sets of facts (-10 more) 8 th Time: 29 sets of facts (-10 more) 9 th Time: 33 sets of facts (-10 more) 10 th Time and after: Office Referral (-25)

4 REWARDS 5-bonus points on your test on each day that all of the students in your class are present. At the end of 1 st Semester if you have no office referrals, Christmas Party At the end of the school year, if you have no office referrals, Movie and Popcorn Party Perfect attendance allows you to exempt one of your 9-weeks Test Having an A in a class allows you to exempt a 9-weeks test

5 CLASSROOM PROCEDURES TURNING IN PAPERS: *Following should be written on EVERY paper. Name Date Period Assignment Do not fold your papers unless told to do so Place your papers in the appropriate folder in the black file at the front of the room! ALWAYS USE A PENCIL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Show ALL work. NO WORK = NO CREDIT

6 ABSENCES It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make up what you missed. Missed assignments must be completed and turned in within 5 days. NO EXCEPTIONS! If the absence is unexcused you will receive a 0 on all missed assignments. Missed tests must be made up during extra class time and break.

7 If you reach 15 absences, you must have a doctors excuse for every absence after that. It does not matter if the first 15 were doctor’s excused or not. If you do not bring a doctor’s excuse after that, they will be unexcused. If you accumulate 10 unexcused absences, you automatically fail the course.

8 GRADING POLICIES Grades during the 9-weeks: 80% 9-weeks Test:20% of final grade If you fail at test (59 or below), you may retake the test within 3 days.

9 GENERAL PROCEDURES : When you enter the room you will either have something on the board to do, or you are to get out the previous nights homework and a red pen. Remain at your desk when the bell rings. It does not dismiss you, I do. You will be allowed to leave once I have finished and when all desks are aligned and all trash picked up. Do not get up during class instruction for any reason without asking permission first.

10 If you need to sharpen your pencil hold the pencil up and wait until I acknowledge you. If you are sick, wave as you go out the door! Raise your hand and WAIT for permission to speak. If you come to class without the proper materials you will receive discipline!

11 IF YOU FINISH EARLY: Read a book, work on an assignment for another class, draw a picture or write a note. DO NOT talk. RESTROOM POLICY: You received 4 bathroom passes, one for each 9-weeks. Once you use up the passes you will not be allowed to go. If you lose the passes, you will not be allowed to go. Make sure you go in-between classes.

12 TARDIES: You must be in class on time. The class period is short and we have a lot to cover. You must be IN YOUR SEAT when the tardy bell rings, not coming in the door. ANNOUNCEMENTS: If the intercom comes on, your mouth will close. VISITORS/KNOCKING AT THE DOOR: Do not answer the door unless I ask you to. You will be given discipline if talking while a visitor is in the room.

13 There is no reason that you should be behind my desk, or at my computer. Do not write on my board or overhead. Do not touch light switch or air conditioner.  the room will be cold so it is suggested that you bring a light jacket to class with you

14 TORNADO WARNING Long, continuous ringing of the bell Come to the front of the classroom and sit facing the wall. Do not talk.

15 Fire Warning Short ringing of the bell. Go out the back door to the steps at the back of the old gym/library. Stand together in a group so that I can check roll.

16 Intruder Alert Will be announced over the intercom! Student sitting in front of the door should lock the door and place paper over the window in door. Go to the front of the room and the corner away from the door and windows and be quiet
