Mrs. Spears 8 Grade Science

I Grew up on Long Island, New York I have traveled out of the country to South Africa, Zambia, Brazil, Haiti, St. Marrten, and Bermuda

Before moving to NC I taught 8th grade science for 2 years in Lakeland FL

Last Year I joined the Wendell Wolves!

Entering the classroom Get your name tag and other worksheets from front Take your seat and make name-tag visible Get out your Do NOW paper Any deviations from routine will be posted on SMART board.

Fill out the Sign-Out sheet located on the Door Classroom Procedures Trash If I nod yes, go to the NEAREST trash can without talking or disrupting those around you Question All five fingers in the air means that you have a question. Wait to be called on, calling out will not be tolerated Water I will make eye contact and signal ‘Yes’ or ‘Wait’. You do NOT need a pass, But you DO need to Fill out the Sign-Out sheet located on the Door Bathroom I will make eye contact and signal ‘Yes’ or ‘Wait’. When using the restroom you must do the following: Fill out the Sign-Out sheet located on the Door Take the Bathroom Pass Sharpen Pencil I will make eye contact with you, if I nod my head ‘yes’ you may proceeded to the sharpener. DURING CLASS Don’t get up for any reason without permission.

Agenda USE THE AGENDA!! Homework, Quizzes, and Tests WILL always be posted on board! Will be required for students leaving the room for ANY reason! You may not use others’ agendas. Doing so could lead to a write-up and disciplinary action. It could also lead to complete and total refusal of leaving the classroom.

Classroom Procedures We work from bell to bell! If you finish your work early, you may quietly read for pleasure, work on another class’ assignment, or ask for a puzzle to complete. 1 puzzle=5 extra credit points. Some worth MORE!

Exiting Class The teacher dismisses class, not the bell. Class will not be dismissed until desks are put back in order and all textbooks and binders are put back on shelves.
