Reading: Informational Reading We will continue to identify the main topic of a multi-paragraph text as well as the focus of specific paragraphs within the text. We will also determine the author’s purpose for writing. (explain, describe, or answer) TUE Read 20 minutes. IXL . Math: Addition/Subtraction We will continue to practice 3 digit addition/subtraction. We will explain our strategies in writing. WED Read and answer questions in Scholastic News. Practice Math Facts Writing: Narrative We will continue writing a personal narrative. We will include many details to show the sequence of events. THU Read 20 minutes. Complete a Reading Choice Board activity. Science: Animal Life Cycle We will determine the sequence of the life cycle of common animals (mammal, bird, amphibian, insect) a EXTRAS Practice addition/subtraction facts RAZ Kids IXL April Writing Calendar April Challenge Board Student’s Name: _________________ Parent’s Signature:__________________ Word Work Spelling Pattern: Syllable Division . Vocabulary Skill Mark Your Calendar This week we will continue to focus on syllable division. We will learn to combine an open syllable with closed syllables and vowel-consonant-e syllables in words like humid and remote. Context Clues We will continue to use sentence level context as a clue to the meaning of a word or phrase.
