Mr. Stockland C104 WELCOME TO CLASS! Math Models Mr. Stockland C104 WELCOME TO CLASS!

Classroom Values P.A.I.R. Productivity – Work hard and given 100% effort in everything you do. Accountability – Follow all school regulations and understand that every action comes with consequences. Integrity – Do what is right at all times, even if no one is watching. Respect – Treat others as they should be treated through your actions and words. If students are in violation of these classroom values, they will lose points on daily assignments and citizenship grades

Procedures Before the tardy bell rings: Restroom use: enter the room quietly, and pick up any papers on the way in at the trapezoidal table look at the front board and follow all instructions sit in your assigned seat The first 5 minutes of class: Work quietly on Warm Up (question on front board) When finished with Warm up be prepared to discuss it Roll is checked at this time by the seating chart On the day of quiz/test, be prepared to take the quiz/test. Restroom use: You will be given ONE emergency pass to use the restroom per six weeks marking period You are expected to take care of your business during passing period You may use the restroom additional times, but you will be assigned mandatory tutorial time (detention) with me before or after school At end of class: Daily work will be collected, or exit questions will be asked Do not leave when the bell rings, instead wait for Mr. Stockland to dismiss you

Supplies and Assignments policy Supplies Required: 3-ring Binder OR folder (to keep handouts) Notebook – for notes (Spiral or 3- ring binder based on preference) Pen or Pencils The Math Department requires either 8 AAA batteries or $5 as a Math Fee. Supplies Requested for Donation: Kleenex (to be kept in classroom for cold and flu season). Assignments and Make-Up Work Policy: Homework MAY be assigned by the teacher and will be turned in the following day at the beginning of the period. Any homework not finished before being taken up will be considered late. Late papers will receive a maximum grade of 80, meaning 20 points will be deducted no matter how many days it is late. **No work is turned after the unit test has already been taken, unless absent work. Quizzes – will be given sparingly. These cannot be retaken for a higher grade. Test retakes – Students can retake tests with grades lower than a 70. If a student has any zeros or missing work, they will not be allowed to retake a test. (Student needs to turn in all late work before the test is given.) Retakes can bring your grade up to a 70.

Grading Policy 50% Major Grades (test, projects) (3 each six weeks) 50% Daily Grades (homework, quizzes, participation, etc.) Absences If absent, you are responsible for getting all missed work! The appropriate time to do this is after the present day’s assignment is completed or if there is any free time in class. Before or after school is also an appropriate time to get absent work. *Absent work is to be completed within 2 days of receiving it. If the student is absent the day of a test, they will need to be ready to take the test upon return to school.

Discipline Policy Upon a student violating classroom or campus rules or procedures, the disciplinary process will proceed as follows: 1st offense – Verbal warning 2nd offense – Tutorials/Detention assigned and/or Parent Contact 3rd offense – Tutorials/Detention assigned and/or Parent Contact 4th Offense – Referral to Administration For extreme offenses, I reserve the right to issue a referral immediately. Cheating: If you can’t explain what you wrote down then you are cheating. This includes but is not limited to: copying someone’s homework or in-class assignments, copying answers from the internet, letting someone else copy your work, using an unauthorized cheat sheet for a quiz or test, having someone else’s homework paper, etc. No grade is worth cheating over. In the end you hurt yourself and your classmates.

BISD Electronic Communication Device Policy Electronics Policy My classroom is a NO PHONE ZONE. No phones are allowed out from tardy bell to dismissal bell. If a studdent has their cell phone or any other electronic device out during my class period without permission, their device will be taken up, the parent will be notified, and the device will be turned into the appropriate Assistant Principal’s office. Having a cell phone out during a test will automatically result in a ZERO for that test grade. To contact your child during class, please call the school at 817-547-8000. BISD Electronic Communication Device Policy 1st Offense: Student may pick up device from AP. (This is their warning) 2nd Offense: Parent must pick up device. Student D-Hall. 3rd Offense: Parent must pick up device. Student D-Hall 4th + Offense: Parent must pick up device. Saturday school, ISS, or OSS.
