2 Mrs. Bolle Late / Incomplete Work Absentee Policy 2016-2017 Technology
AP Calculus BC Mrs. Bolle Late / Incomplete Work Absentee Policy * My expectation is that ALL assignments need to be completed to a level of proficiency and turned in on time. Students are given plenty of class time to complete all assignments. * YES, WE DID SOMETHING IMPORTANT WHILE YOU WERE ABSENT. It is the student’s responsibility to check the class “Absent Work Bin” to find any assignments that they missed. * A student has two extra days to turn in any work assigned on a day a student was absent. If a quiz was administered on a day a student was absent, the quiz must be made up on the first day the student returns. If previously assigned work was due on the day of the absence, the work is due on the first day the student returns. Technology Students will be using TI nspire calculators. Students are expected to abide by all school and district digital safety rules and guidelines. Failure to do so will result in said student being banned from using technology. Grade Breakdown Tests: Tests will be given at the end of each unit. Tests are worth 400 points. There are no retakes on Tests. There will be a midterm and final exam. Quizzes: Quizzes will be given several times during each unit, worth 100 points. There are no retakes on Quizzes. * Any test/quiz that is not made up will result in a grade of a Zero * Homework: It is very important that you complete your homework each night it is assigned. To receive full credit on a assignment, you must attempt every problem, show your work and correct all incorrect answers. Worth 50 points. Participation: Students will be given 100 points per week. The teacher may deduct participation points for any and ALL behaviors deemed negative to the classroom environment. Plagiarism Cheating Plagiarism is the taking ideas and writings of another and passing them off as one’s own. In this class, plagiarism includes... 1. turning in another’s work as one’s own 2. copying work from a friend before class (or while in another class) 3. including a source but failing to cite it 4. copying an author’s exact words and passing them off as one’s own Students caught plagiarizing will be given a ZERO for the assignment. * The teacher will notify the administration and contact parents if cheating / plagiarism is suspected. * The student will be given a zero for that particular test or assignment. * Cheating is NOT tolerated in my classroom. I, ________________________________________, have read and understand the rules and expectations for AP Calculus BC. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to contact my teacher if I have any questions or concerns. I know that this syllabus, assignments, calendars, and resources are available to me on Mrs. Bolle’s website and the remind app at any time. I know that it is my responsibility to turn my work on time and talk to the teacher when I have been absent. I also understand that participation points will be lost if I do not follow the rules and expectations of the class.
