1 Rules, Procedures & Expectations
Miss Blodgett

2 General Classroom Rules
Always be trustworthy & honest. Respect yourself, your classmates & your teachers. Pay attention to your classmates’ boundaries! If you have something to say, raise your hand & wait to be called on. Ask permission before leaving the classroom. Use respectful, calm, & appropriate language at all times. Keep hands, feet, & all objects to yourself. No throwing anything please! Do your best, be yourself, & have fun!

3 Entering the Classroom
Be on time!! Excess tardies will result in calls home, detentions, & calls home. When walking into the classroom, quietly enter and sit in your assigned seats. (Seats will be assigned shortly.) Be sure to have ALL required materials & homework. (We will get to this shortly! ) Immediately begin working quietly on bellwork when you enter. This will be expected of you each day upon entering the room so make it a good habit! 

4 Bellwork & Entering The Classroom
You are expected to be in your seat and working on bellwork when the bell rings. For now, we will be using paper bellwork sheets, but we will be switching to Google Classroom bellwork when iPads & technology are more available. Bellwork sheets are located on the table in the back of the room. Every Monday you will grab one and use it for the week.  We turn bellwork in every Friday.

5 Necessary Materials: 1. English folder 2. English notebook
3. Pen, pencil, & highlighter 4. WAC Binder 5. Homework & class assignments 6. Planner/Assignment Notebook

6 What if I forget something?
Extra pens, pencils, highlighters, loose-leaf paper & bellwork sheets are located on the back table and bookshelf. It is your responsibility to return your supplies before leaving the classroom or they may not be provided in the future.

7 Leaving The Classroom If for any reason you must leave Miss Blodgett’s classroom, be sure you have done these things: 1. Asked permission. 2. Received a pass. 3. Signed Out Leave the classroom quietly and return promptly so you are not disrupting other students in the hallway.

8 Bathroom, Water, & Locker Passes
Trips to the bathroom, locker or water fountain should be taken between classes. Very rarely will I let a student leave during class time. It is your responsibility to take care of these needs before or after class.

9 Food & Drink Food & drink are acceptable unless they become a distraction from class or in-class work. If food and drink become a consistent issue, they may no longer be allowed.

10 Student Work All students are expected to complete all required homework and class activities to the best of their ability. All homework should be turned in directly to Miss Blodgett when she asks for it. Please write your name & the date on ALL assignments. This ensures your homework is graded promptly and doesn’t get lost.

11 Technology Technology is to be away at all times unless you are specifically told to take it out for academic purposes by Miss Blodgett. This means out of sight - not on desktops or laps. Earbuds are to be removed before entering the classroom. Students may be permitted to listen to music with one earbud in and one out during individual work time only & when Miss Blodgett specifically states. If a student is using technology for anything other than academic work, Miss Blodgett reserves the right to take it away.

12 Technology Consequences
1st offense – Student will be asked to put their technology in the red “Tech Tub” until the end of the class period. 2nd offense – Technology will be put in Miss Blodgett’s locked closet until the end of the day. Student is responsible for pick-up after 7th hour. 3rd offense – Technology will be given to administration until the end of the day. Student is responsible for pick-up after 7th hour. 4th offense – Technology will be given to administration for parent pick-up & a probable parent meeting with teacher & administration. All violations ARE tracked carefully. Students get a “fresh start” at the beginning of each quarter. No exceptions will be granted once the class warning has been given.

13 Group Work & Discussions
Students are expected to treat each other with respect in all group discussions. Remember: You don’t have to like each other but you need to RESPECT each other. The noise should be a talking level only. If the noise gets too loud, students will be given a warning and discipline procedures will be followed accordingly. If Miss Blodgett is busy helping other students, please wait patiently until she is finished with the current group. She will be more than happy to help you afterwards.

14 Dismissal Before leaving, know what the assigned homework is. Write it in your planner!  Be sure there is no paper/garbage at or around your desk. Miss Blodgett will tell students when to pack their things up and when they may leave the classroom. The bell does not dismiss you. Walk quietly to your next class.

15 Be Ready! Be Respectful! Be Responsible! WAC Way!:
Students who are tardy, disruptive or consistently violate classroom rules infringe on others’ rights to succeed.

16 Plagiarism & Cheating:
Plagiarism, copying another student’s work, or allowing another student to copy your work is unacceptable in all high school classes. These occurrences are taken very seriously. A “0” will be given to all students involved and disciplinary action will be followed according to WAWM’s district policy.

17 Where is my missed work? Where can I turn it in?
Missed work is located in the weekly manila folders posted on the wall in the back of the room. All missed or late work should be turned in directly to Miss Blodgett so it doesn’t get lost! Missed or late work should be turned in within 5 days of your absence.
