3 Tardy Policy: A student that is not inside his/her classroom with all their materials when the bell rings, is considered tardy.  A student is expected to be in class and ready to begin work at the beginning of each instructional period.   1st Tardy – Verbal Warning 2nd Tardy - Teacher Detention and Parent Notification 3rd Tardy – Office Referral and 1 period of ISS 4th Tardy – Office Referral and 1 period of ISS 5th Tardy – Office Referral and 1 day of ISS 6th Tardy – Office Referral and 1 day of ISS Each succeeding tardy will result in one day of OSS.

4 Electronics/Cellphones Approved devices can be used in schools as an assistive technology tool, but must be in the “off” position and not be displayed for use during the school day from bell to bell, unless otherwise specifically allowed by a staff member for a specific instructional purpose. 5 Course Materials: Binders
3-ring notebook/dividers, paper, pencil, pen or colored pencil, CALCULATOR, other materials as needed Binders Students will be required to keep a separate binder with dividers for this class. Periodically throughout the semester, teachers will check for binder organization and will also give assessments to ensure students are using their binders and keeping up with class materials. Binder sections: Classwork (in order by date) Notes (in order by date) Homework (in order by date) Quizzes (in order by date), Paper/graph paper

6 Class Rules Consequences for Unacceptable Behavior
Follow all class, school and county rules. Be on time and prepared for class. Pencils: sharpen before class! Restroom: 2 passes per quarter Stay awake and participate! You may stand up in the back if you do not cause disruptions. No eating or drinking (clear WATER bottles with lids ok) Consequences for Unacceptable Behavior Warning (serious infractions will not receive warning.) Phone call or to parent 20 minute after school detention and parent contact. Referral to Office.

Question/answer time Quiz/test when applicable Lesson Work on assignment End of class Quiz, Exit Ticket, and or Discussion Homework Pencil is the preferred writing utensil You must show work on assignments (no work no credit) Work is to be completed before you come to class Grade based on the number of problems completed. Homework may be assigned daily (including weekends) and grades will be recorded.

8 Grades each quarter: 40% Tests(must use pencil)/Projects
30% Quizzes(open notes) 15% Classwork: Bellwork, in class assignments, notes, binder check 15% Homework (graded based on attempt and completion) FINAL EXAM 10% of overall average If absent, a grade of 0 will be entered into gradebook. 5 days to make up work and replace the 0. Tests/quizzes must be made up in class the next day, at lunch, or after school. If made up in class, the student is responsible for the notes/work missed while making up test/quiz. HW 1 day late is half credit. No credit after that.

9 EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES: Any student with 10 COMPLETE (100%) assignments will get a homework pass (if they bring it to my attention). Students who score an A on a test/quiz or who improve their previous test/quiz score by 10 points (before 3 point bonus is added) will receive a homework pass. 12 What does a homework pass do
What does a homework pass do? It allows you one extra day to turn in work without a late penalty or It allows you to convert 1 “0” to a “50” Note: Lost passes will not be replaced.
