4 Classroom Procedures

5 Entering the classroom
Come in quickly and quietly, proceed immediately to YOUR seat.  If you have homework, have it out and ready to turn in.  Begin work on the Bell Ringer on the screen. 

6 Bell Ringers  You will have a Bell Ringer every day which will come in a packet you will receive next class.  These packets will be kept in class and if you are absent, you will need to make up the bellringers you missed during extra time in class.  If I am out, your row captain will pass out your bellringers and I still expect them to be completed.   Bell Ringers will be checked for a grade once you have completed all 5 included in the packet. Your Bell Ringer pages should have your name and period on the front.

7 Clint Barton Period 4 8/14/17       Be sure to restate your writing prompt or question and answer in complete sentences. Include at least the requested length of writing, if not more.  You will likely have various writing assignments for in-class work or homework throughout the year. The format shown should be used every time.  Assignments

9 Direct Instruction C- Noise Level Zero: There should be no talking
H- Raise a quiet hand. I may acknowledge you without calling on you which means I will come back to your question. A- Teacher directed instruction M- Remain seated for the duration of direct instruction. In case of emergency, raise a quiet hand. **Exception: if you feel you are going to throw up, go immediately to the restroom. DO NOT WAIT!!** P- Take Notes! (We will practice a couple of different styles, by the end of Semester 1, you will be free to choose your preferred style of notetaking) Success! 

10 In-Class Work Time – Use it or Lose it!
C- Noise Level 1: Whispering/QUIETLY talking IF NECESSARY. H- Ask 3 before me, if no other student can give you the answer, raise a quiet hand and I will assist you. A- Specifics will be posted on the board or on the handout you were given. M- Minimize movement unless necessary to successfully complete your assignment (sharpen pencil, get more paper, ask for help, etc.) P- Actively working on the assignment, helping those who ask for it QUIETLY. Success!

11 Working in Groups C- Noise level 2: Active conversation ABOUT the assignment. H- Ask 2 before me. Try asking your group members, and then another group if you need assistance. If they cannot help, raise a quiet hand. A- Group cooperation toward the assigned task. M- As needed to acquire resources and complete the task successfully. P- Cooperating with a partner toward the common goal of the assignment. Success!

#2 Be Prompt to class. Your tardy entrance is not considerate of your classmates. 3rd Tardy = 1 hour detention with Mrs. Bock and Phone call home 4th -6th /call home 6th Tardy= Another 1 hour detention with Mrs. Bock 7th Tardy and beyond= Call/ home, Administrative Referral

#3 Be Prepared. You will need your notebook, a writing utensil, and a good attitude each day. Plan accordingly!

#4 Be Productive. Use all your time to the best of your ability. Submit assignments on time. If you are absent, submit your work early or via .

#5 Be Polite: Respect those around you and be sure to treat them how you would like to be treated.

17 Cougar Pride Classroom Rules
When you have Cougar Pride you will : RESPECT others with your words and actions. Keep Hands, Feet, and all other Objects to yourself. Work Diligently during all work times. Arrive on time every day. Prepare yourself and your materials as soon as you arrive to class.

18 Technology Use This is a Cellphone Free classroom. I will adhere to this to the best of my own ability by using the computer for time and , and leaving my phone away during the day.  You should adhere to this policy by:  Leave your phone at home or with a parent.  Leave your phone in my "Cellphone Jail" voluntarily. 

19 If I See Tech outside the Cellphone Chart
1st offense: Warning and confiscated to cellphone jail. 2nd offense: Call/ home, phone sent to office.   3rd offense: Call/ home, phone sent to office, 1 hour detention with Mrs. Bock.  If seen again after step 3, you will be referred to  administration for acting in defiance of classroom rules and expectations. 

20 School Wide Expectations
Stay in Class. You may not leave the room in the first or last 10 minutes of the period, or while Mrs. Bock is giving instructions.

21 Going to the Restroom SIGN OUT PROCEDURES
Only 1 student may leave at a time. Obtain permission before you sign out. Sign out on the clipboard with name/date/time. Carry the pass and return it when you sign back in.

22 Check yourself! You are free to choose but you are not free from the consequence of your choice.

23 Yes, you can! You are capable of more than you could ever think or imagine, if you make your best effort!
