Infinite Campus/My Website  Students and Parents are responsible to check grade on Infinite Campus.  Check at least once a week.  Students must check my website: every week for assignments, powerpoints, deadlines, etc…

How to be Successful con’t  5. Choose a class study buddy whom you can call for missed assignments and whom you can study with for tests and quizzes.  6. Study for tests a little bit each night. Do NOT wait until the night before a test and cram all evening!  7. Ask questions in class. This is your education. Do not cheat yourself out of learning all you can.

BE PREPARED!!

TARDY POLICY  Students will be IN THE CLASSROOM when the bell rings. Any student who is not in class will be marked tardy. The discipline for being tardy will be handled by the attendance/deans office.  Tardies are per SEMESTER, not quarter

Make-up Work  When you are absent it is YOUR responsibility to use the assignment calendar (also on my website), to find out what you missed. Handouts will be placed in the class crate, and you have three school days according to school regulations to make up the assignments.

Make-up Work con’t  Make-up work/late work must have a slip attached to the assignment. The slip must be filled out in its entirety or it will not be graded.

Make-up Work con’t  To make up an exam, quiz, or lab you have three days to contact me about making it up. At this time we will discuss a time that is convenient for the both of us.

Testing  There will be a major test on every concept unit. They will be made up of multiple choice, true/false, matching, and generally short answer, and essay questions.

Spelling & Grammar  While this is a science class, spelling and grammar are a very important part of all subjects. I will be looking at this when grading your work. Neatness is also very important.

Policies & Procedures  Cheating -Silverado has a school wide cheating policy. ZERO TOLERANCE for cheating regardless of the type of assignment. If you cheat you WILL get a zero and you will get an automatic teacher detention and possible dean referral.  ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINK (besides water, which must be in the clear bottle that the water was purchased in) IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM AT ANY TIME. Failure to abide by this rule results in an immediate teacher detention. No warning will be issued…… consider this your warning!

Class Folders  Your Folder will be organized as follows:  Front (left) pocket: Daily Questions, Course expectations  In prongs: Table of Content with Assignments in ORDER  Back (right): Labs/MISC  You will need a minimum of three folders, 8 would be best Keep this with you DAILY

Policies and Procedures con’t  All nuisance items (examples: cell phones which are not turned off and out of sight, headphone sets, and other toys) will be confiscated and immediately turned into the dean’s office.  Mrs. Odell DISMISSES YOU, NOT THE BELL! I expect you to be sitting quietly in your seat and to have a clean classroom before you will be dismissed. Time you waste in this process is only time you are taking away from yourself!

Policy and Procedures con’t  Dress code – Please follow the dress code set forth by CCSD and Silverado High School. Violators will be sent immediately to the Dean’s office. Dress code

Class Rules and Progressive Discipline  Progressive Discipline Plan:  Verbal Warning  Detention  Parent Contact  Counselor Referral  Deans Referral
