2 Ms. Warner Late / Incomplete Work Absentee Policy Essay Policy
English 10th Ms. Warner Late / Incomplete Work Absentee Policy * Students have ONE day to turn in late assignments where they can earn up to 50% of the original grade. Any assignments turned in after one day will be a zero. *Any assignment over 100 points will not be accepted after the due date. * Printer and Internet issues are not an excuse for late work. * YES, WE DID SOMETHING IMPORTANT WHILE YOU WERE ABSENT. * It is the student’s responsibility to check the class website, the unit calendar, and speak with another classmate to find out about any assignments missed. * A student has two extra days to turn in any work assigned on a day a student was absent. If a quiz was administered on a day a student was absent, the quiz must be made up on the first day the student returns. If previously assigned work was due on the day of the absence, the work is due on the first day the student returns. Students WITHOUT an excused absence will lose 50% of the original grade. Essay Policy * If a student is absent on the due date, the student is responsible for ing me their essay on or before the due date AND turning in a hard copy the day (s)he returns to school. Technology I strongly encourage all of my students and parents to join my Remind class. This allows me to send out reminders for upcoming test and assignments, and provides a way for students or parents to contact me with questions. To join, to Unit calendars, class assignments, PowerPoints, and other helpful tools can all be accessed on my website. ( Plagiarism BATHROOM Plagiarism is the taking ideas and writings of another and passing them off as one’s own. In this class, plagiarism includes... 1. turning in another’s work as one’s own 2. copying work from a friend before class (or while in another class) 3. including a source but failing to cite it 4. copying an author’s exact words and passing them off as one’s own Students caught plagiarizing will be given a ZERO for the assignment. *Each student will be given four “punches” per nine weeks for bathroom use. At the end of the nine weeks the student will have an opportunity to redeem the pass worth three extra points per “punch”. Extra points cap off at 30 points per nine weeks. * Only one punch card will be given a year. I, ________________________________________, have read and understand the rules and expectations for class. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to contact my teacher if I have any questions or concerns. I know that this syllabus, assignments, calendars, and resources are available to me on Ms. Warner’s website at any time. I know that assignments can be submitted digitally at any time and that printer/computer/flash drive issues are not an excuse for late work.
