Binder Checks What is a binder check? I will be grading the organization of your binder and science journal. If you have the assignments and notes completed you will receive a 100% There will be a grading rubric with the breakdown of each point you can receive. When will binder checks be? At the completion of each science concept. There may be more than one during the grading period. I will give an advance notice.

Tutoring & Testing Tutoring By request only (certain topics I will assign a day) The morning before each test I will hold a review session. Find a buddy that lives by you to carpool on these days. Testing Mondays and Thursdays Review sessions will be the day before the test. Study guides will be given.

LEAD passes I put 4 LEAD passes in the pale each day. It is first come first serve. If you are wanting to complete work or receive additional help on any topics come by any time before LEAD to claim a pass, but once all 4 are gone that is all I have space for.

Science Journal due Thursday 8/27 1 composition notebook NOT a spiral Work from home or bring to class any school appropriate pictures, magazine clippings, stickers, etc. to personalize your science journal. I will wrap your journal in packaging tape OR you can do it at home. I will connect a rubber band so that you can close your pages.

Homework Homework will not be given every night, however I will try to make homework meaningful. Homework assignments will be for additional practice. If you do not complete an assignment in class because you did not use your time wisely, then it is your responsibility to take it home and complete it. You will have a homework punch card, so once you complete so many assignments you will be rewarded.

Make Up Work All assignments will be placed in the “When You Were Out” box located on the book shelf at the front of the room. It is your responsibility the day you return from being absent to look in the box for any assignments you missed. You will receive the same number of days you were out to complete the missed work on your own terms. Complete work at home, come before and after school (if approved by Ms. Grosch), or during LEAD

Step 3: Write down any homework you may have. Step 4: Complete any warm ups with correct format in your binder under “warm ups” tab.

to use the restroom or to not use the restroom? Each student will be given 3 restroom passes each grading period. The passes will be a different color each grading period, and you will not be allowed to roll over passes. Any passes that have not been used at the end of the grading period will be thrown away. You have plenty of time to use the restroom before class begins. “If I can do it, you can do it!” You may NOT ask me to use the restroom in the middle of my lecture.
