Today’s Objective * I will locate positive and negative rational numbers on a number line * I will find absolute value of a number using a number line * I will describe the meaning of 0 in a given real world situation *I will compare numbers using inequality statements I will demonstrate my understanding by completing at least 1 worksheet from each choice activity standard with at least 80% accuracy. 6.NS.5, 6.NS.6, 6.NS.7

Language Objective By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use all four language domains of listening, speaking, reading and writing to communicate the academic math language of absolute value, integers, rational numbers and inequalities. They will discuss and locate positive and negative rational numbers on a number line. They will discuss and find absolute value of a number using a number line. They will compare numbers using inequality statements and show their understanding by completing at least 1 worksheet from each choice activity standard with at least 80% accuracy. Academic Math Language Vocabulary: Absolute value, rational number, integer, positive, negative Number line

Independent work You will select one paper at a time You need to complete at least one paper from each standard (you get to choose which one) You must complete at least 3 worksheets

How do you feel? topic.

Tonight’s H.W.: Finish the remainder of the worksheets you selected.

Accommodations Read or reread presentation or activity directions, as needed or after prompting Use examples to model and act as a guide for emerging learners
