2 Opening Problem Take out your math packet. Solve in your notebook:
I am going to set the timer for 5 minutes. Create a table to describe the pattern. Try to create an equation for the situation. When timer goes off, I will set it again for 1 minute for students to talk with their neighbors. I will randomly call on 3 students to share how they saw the pattern and if they had an equation for it. Then I ask the class if anyone used a different strategy than what the 3 students just shared.

5 Relationships Between Absolute Value and Order (in the Real World)
Today I will understand how the signs (positive or negative) of a set of numbers influences the order of absolute values. So that we apply our understanding of order and absolute value to real-world scenarios. I will show I know it when I can solve the stations with our partners with at least 80% accuracy. 6.NS.C.7

11 In Summary… The absolute value of positive numbers always has the same order as the positive numbers themselves. The absolute value of negative numbers always have exactly the opposite order as the negative numbers themselves. The absolute value of numbers on the number line increase as you move away from zero in either direction.
