Minimum GPA of 2.75 in the prerequisite courses to be admitted to any TU education program. Admission is limited by space All prerequisite courses must have a grade of C or better. Most prerequisites may not be taken with the “pass” option. Once you are in the program, you must earn at least a 3.0 each semester and no grade below a C.

If GPA is less than 2.75 at the end of fall semester, the chances of admission to any education program are extremely limited. If you believe you can bring your GPA up to 2.75 by the end of Spring 2017, write a letter explaining your plan. If you will not have 60 credits by spring 17, but are willing to attend summer school, submit a letter explaining your plan.

Your schedule cannot be adjusted around work or carpool Once you are Accepted Be flexible. You are guaranteed your courses but not a specific schedule or days off in a week. Students will be notified in March. Your schedule cannot be adjusted around work or carpool Arrive on time to schools and be professional.

Professional Manners and Matters Demonstrate Essential Dispositions Commitment to professional practice Caring for the success and well-being of all students Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders Dress professionally in schools/internships. Demonstrate professional behavior with ethical, moral, collegial and honest interactions with others Maintain confidentiality Support others at all times

Professional Manners and Matters The criminal background check before the Professional Year is extensive. School systems control who can student teach in their schools Students who have had contact with the courts, may want to consult Mr. Caldwell in CPP to determine risk of being barred from the internship.

Important Info The FALL of your senior (Professional) year, interns may need to return to school earlier than TU’s start date; Professional internships WILL begin when teachers in local school systems return. Absences are not excused. Plan vacation, trips, work, etc. AROUND this professional commitment.

Other Opportunities Students interested in becoming student members of Council for Exceptional Children should email Dr. Kandace Hoppin at khoppin@towson.edu
