3. Apply and Get Admitted
Participate by getting admitted into a college.
Each college has it’s own admission criteria such as placement tests, ACT scores, GPA, etc.

4. Sinclair Admission Criteria
Students must meet one of the following requirements for each subject sections to show that they are academically ready for college courses:
ENGLISH & SOCIAL SCIENCES
An ACT score of > 18 in English or SAT score > 430 in English, OR
Score college-ready on Sinclair’s ACCUPLACER placement test in English
MATH & SCIENCE
An ACT score of > 22 in Math or SAT score > 520 in Math, OR
Score college-ready on Sinclair’s ACCUPLACER placement test in Math

5. Student Choice
You choose the course or courses that fit your pathway. Each must be secular, apply toward a degree or workforce certification and confer college credit.
A sample pathway is listed on page 13 of your handout. You may also look to the Ohio Transfer Module (OTM) as a guide for which courses to take, a link to the OTM is on page 3.

6. Graduate with College Credit
You can earn up to 30 college credit hours per academic year; this includes summer term. (Summer falls under the upcoming school year. For example: this summer counts for the school year.)
The credit hours includes the courses you are taking at the high school level
You cannot earn more than 120 college credit hours while in the CCP program.

7. 30 College Credit Explanation
Maximum College Credit Hours Per Academic Year
Number of High School Only Credit Hours Scheduled (multiply by 3)
Example:
Adv. English 3 – 1 high school credit
Pre-Calculus – 1high school credit
American Political Studies – 1 high school credit
= 9 total credits
In this example, the student would be allowed 21 CCP credits for the Academic Year

8. Summer Requirements Important to note that:
A college’s summer term may begin in May.
There may be multiple sessions within a summer term.
Availability of high school staff to help with summer issues will be limited.
If you want to participate in summer term, you must submit your letter of intent to participate early enough to apply and gain admission to the college and register for courses in the spring.

10. CCP and High School
A semester college course of 3 or more credits counts as a one-year high school course.
Example: English 1101(3 college credits) = 1 high school English credit
Weighted grades:
College courses are weighted
A = 4.2
B = 3.15
C = 2.1
D = 1.05
Grades are Applied to Graduation Requirements
The grade you earn in the college course is applied to your high school graduation required course.

11. Under What Scenarios Can a Qualified Student use College Credit Plus?
You want to take college courses to satisfy your high school graduation requirements.
You completed your high school graduation required classes and want to begin college work.
You want to explore college and take a course in a subject that interests you.

12. Fees Tuition and Books are covered through CCP
Extra fees (such as lab fees) may not be covered by the university and would result in the student having to pay for them.
Parking and transportation fees are the students expense.
If a student exceeds their 30 credit allotment for the school year, they are financially responsible for the cost of the overage.
If a student fails a course, or drops a course too late, they are responsible to cover the cost of that course and textbooks.

13. What’s Next?
Turn in the Intent to Participate Form (tan one) by April 1st
This is a date set by the State of Ohio.
You cannot participate in CCP without this form on file.
REMEMBER THAT THE 1ST IS A SATURDAY AND WHILE WE ARE ON SPRING BREAK – TURN IN THE FORM BEFORE WE LEAVE FOR BREAK
