TEAM USA 8 th Period Homerooms

5 Homeroom Levels 1) Silent Reading (Sparango) 2) Make-Up Work (Morano) 3) Silent Homework (McCracken) 4) Group Homework (Kim) 5) Social/Electronics (Matriccino)

Rotation Information 1 st Rotation – Monday, May 4 th – Friday, May 15 th 2 nd Rotation – Monday, May 17 th – Friday, May 29 th Teachers will meet on Friday, May 1 st, and Friday, May 15 th to discuss grades and where students will be placed. Once you have been placed you are locked into that level for 2 weeks.

Level 1-Silent Reading Rules (Sparango) Students will enter the room silently and read silently towards their IRP requirement. Students are not permitted to do homework during this time. Students are reading and homework will be done at HOME! There is no talking in this room other than to the teacher. One warning will be given then lunch detentions will be issued. Restroom may be used in the first or last 5 minutes only.

Level 1-Silent Reading Requirements Students who have no make-up work and have not read at least 400 pages are required to be in the room. Reading Teacher Recommendation.

Level 2-Make-Up Work Rules (Morano) Students in this room will be making up tests, quizzes, projects, or classwork from being absent or at lessons. Students need to present Mrs. Morano with what the make-up work is when entering the classroom. Restrooms may be used in the first or last 5 minutes only. Students can move to see teachers that assigned make-up work.

Level 2-Make-Up Work Requirements Need to show the work to Mrs. Morano when entering the classroom. Will be in that classroom for the whole period. If make-up work is done, student can start homework or free read. Teacher Recommendation

Level 3-Silent Homework Rules (McCracken) Students will enter the room silently and complete homework. Once homework is done, students will study or free read. There is no talking in this room other than to the teacher. One warning will be given then lunch detentions will be issued. Restroom may only be used in the first or last 5 minutes only.

Level 3-Silent Homework Requirements Any student who has missed/handed in late 3 or more assignments in the previous 2 weeks must be in this room. Any student that has a 74% or less in any major subject (geography, science, math, English or reading).

Level 4-Group Homework Rules (Kim) Students must enter the room with all the materials to work on projects or homework. Students are allowed to work with others on the assignments. Students may have conversations with students at a reasonable volume. Restroom must be used in the first or last five minutes only.

Level 4-Group Homework Requirements Any student that has met their IRP requirements Any student that has no make-up work Any student that has only missed/handed in late 1-2 assignments in the previous 2 weeks Any student that has between a 75%-84% in any major subjects

Level 5-Social/Electronics Rules (Matriccino) Congratulations! Your hard work has paid off! You have the option to work on homework, free read, or socialize appropriately. You may relax and hang out with your friends. You may bring in and use your own electronics. (You must comply with all Methacton Rules. See details in handbook) You may visit and help other teachers in the building (if you have permission)

Level 5-Social/Electronics Requirements Any student that has met their IRP requirements. Any student that has no make-up work. Any student that has not missed an assignment in the last 2 weeks. Any student that has an 85% or higher in all major subjects.
