Procedures & Routines Mrs. Taylor’s

Entering the Classroom  Shake hands at the door.  Have all supplies. Sharpen your pencil.  Turn in your Homework.  Take your OMG/spiral binder from the crate.  Go to your seat. Begin Spiral Packet.

Starting Warm-up  Open your Spiral Packet. Work the assigned problems on the sheet.  Write your Main Ideas and strategies. Strategies are more important than answers.  Collaborate with your partners. Show your work! Do not work ahead!  We will debrief as a class.

Sharpening your Pencil  Do this before class starts as you enter the room.  Sharpen only one pencil at a time.  Do not sharpen pencils while I am talking to the class.

Quieting the Class  Mrs. Taylor will clap.  You will clap in the same rhythm.  Stop. Be still. Be quiet. Look. Listen for important information.

Collecting Seat Work  Make a stack in the center of your table.  All papers face the same direction. Check for names on papers.  Mrs. Taylor will take up the papers.

Turning in Work  Turn in homework and tests on your own.  Place papers in the folders on the cabinet door.  Be careful to place your paper in the folder for the correct class period.

Restroom  Restroom breaks are allowed only during independent practice time.  Restroom breaks are at Mrs. Taylor’s discretion.  Do not interrupt me during a lesson to ask for the restroom.  Take the Restroom Pass with you.

Going to Lunch  Lunch is during 4 th period.  I will walk you to the cafeteria. We will walk on the right side of the hall.  You will return to this class and we will continue the lesson where we left off.

When you are absent…  Take your make-up work from the labeled folders on the side wall or the folders in the pink crate.  You have the number of days absent plus one day to complete this work.  Ask Mrs. Taylor for help if you need it. Turn in make-up work on my desk.  Make-up work not turned in will result in a zero. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!!!!

When Mrs. Taylor is absent…  Follow the regular procedures.  Listen and follow the directions the substitute teacher gives.  Be respectful.  Misbehaving for a substitute teacher results in an automatic office referral.

Working with Whiteboards  Write only Math.  No names, pictures, words, or any other writing but the problem you are given.  The socks are your erasers. Please do not write or draw on them.  Use a light touch. Pressing down on the markers ruins them.

Leaving at the end of Class  Mrs. Taylor will dismiss you at the appropriate time.  You will be dismissed only if you are in your seat, quiet and all borrowed pencils have been returned to the board.  The bell does not dismiss you.

Cell Phone Use  Look at the board for the colors.  RED, you may leave your phone on your desk, face down, and turned off.  YELLOW, you may leave your phone on your desk, face up, and on silent. We will use them for a specific activity.  GREEN, you may use your headphones and listen to music only.
