Barrett Code based on The Essential 55 1.When responding to any adult, you answer by saying “Yes, Ma’am” or “No, Sir”. 4. During discussions, respect other students’ comments, opinions and ideas. 8. Do not smack your lips, sigh, roll your eyes, or show disrespect with gestures. 9. Always say,” Thank you”, when given something. 20. While you are with a substitute teacher, you will obey the same rules that you follow when your teacher is with you.
18
30. After you eat, clean up after yourself. 37. If someone bumps into you, even if it is not your fault, say, “Excuse me.” 48. If any student in this school is bothering you, let a teacher know. Your teachers are here to look after you and protect you. 53. No matter what the circumstances, always be honest. Even if you have done something wrong, it is best to admit it, because you will gain respect and often disciplinary measures will be less because of your honesty.
