What are the rules in this classroom?

Classroom Guidelines

Rule #1a There are to be NO cell phones out during class time for any reason. Phones out in the classroom WILL be taken and turned in to the office!

Rule #1b Be in your assigned seat and working on the assigned bellwork when the tardy bell rings. If you are not in the room when the tardy bell rings you WILL be marked absent. In order to change this to a tardy, you must get a slip from the office before you will be allowed in the room. Remember 2 Tardies = Office Referral!! 3 unexcused absences = No Credit!! Only 4 parent notes allowed in a semester class.

Rule #2a Stay seated. There is no reason for you to be up wandering the room. If you need to get out of your seat, ask permission.

Rule #2b There is to be no talking during the pledge or morning announcements. Continue working on your bellwork, and listen to the announcements. The time for socializing was BEFORE CLASS!!

Work on assignments given. Bring ALL books and materials to class and take them with you when you leave. If you must borrow from me, collateral will be required! Rule #2c

Rule #2d No passing notes.

Rule #2e No writing or drawing on assignments, other than assigned work.

Rule #3a Do not write on the furniture, walls, etc… Pencil will be considered disrespectful. Pen or marker will be considered vandalism!!

Rule #3b No physical contact of any kind.

Rule #3c Treat each person in this room with respect and dignity.

Rule #3d Do not write on the boards without permission.

Rule #3e No feet on the furniture or sitting on tables or desks.

Other Guidelines When calculators are allowed on assignments, replace them on the wall before you leave.

Other Guidelines NO CHEATING!!! Students caught cheating on any assignment will receive a zero on the assignment, as well as a discipline referral. Parents WILL be contacted.

Other Guidelines The area behind the teacher’s desk is off-limits to students without the express permission of the teacher.

Where’s Waldo?  Papers with no names will be put on the Waldo Board.  You will be expected to prove the paper is yours.

After an Excused Absence  It is your responsibility to ask me about any missed work.  You are still responsible for the ACT bellwork for missed days.  You will receive an extension of EXACTLY the number of days you were absent. Work not turned in on time will be recorded as a 0. Make-up tests: 3:30p.m.

Moving Around the Room  You must ask permission.  Do not ask during a classroom discussion or lecture unless it is an emergency.

Leaving the Classroom  Only 1 person is allowed out of the room at a time.  You MUST have a pass with you or you may not leave.  If you want to go to another teacher’s room you must ALREADY have a pass from that teacher.  You must sign out on the exit sheet any time you leave the room.  Nobody may leave during Channel One for ANY reason.

Food & Drink  Food is not allowed in the classroom. You are given ample opportunities to eat in the cafeteria and get snacks between classes. Food seen open in the classroom will be thrown away.  Drinks are allowed, preferably in resealable containers. The answer is NO.  Food and drink of any kind are not allowed in the computer lab, or near the computers in the classroom.
