2. Please come in and find a seat… You may sit where you like… for now. ▫Yes, there will be assigned seats, but we’ll cover that later.

3. Who am I? My name is Ms. Bridjmohan ▫Let’s practice saying that… I came from Alvin Junior High, where I taught 8 th graders alongside Ms. Brewer. I graduated from AHS in 2006 (let’s not do the math.) Yes, I do have a sense of humor!

4. Tell me more, tell me more… I promise to treat everyone fairly. Respect is earned. I am a firm believer in the “Golden Rule”!

6. Classroom Rules Act right! ▫Be in your seat when the tardy bell rings. ▫Come to class prepared. ▫Cell phones are only used when permitted. ▫Follow all AHS rules and Alvin ISD policies.

7. And what happens if I don’t… 1 st – Warning and documentation. 2 nd – Action Plan, Parental Contact, Conference. 3 rd – Detention and Disciplinary Referral. 4 th – Let’s not go there…

8. And what if I do… Verbal Acknowledgment. A stress-free learning environment. A happy teacher.

9. Disclosure Notice Any student who uses profanity, fights, damages school property (this includes my stuff and other students’ stuff), or is disrespectful (as defined by the teacher) will be sent to the office IMMEDIATELY.

10. Classroom Procedures Follow instructions on the board when you enter the classroom. Turn in all work in the turn-in bins. Raise your hand. No shouting, “Hey, Miss!” ▫I do not respond. I promise, do not test me. When I am speaking, no talking.

11. Attention, Please! I will… ▫Stand in front of the classroom. ▫Raise my hand. ▫Wait for everyone to quiet down. ▫Begin speaking.  Now let’s try it!

13. Absences, Tardies, and Such… If you are absent: ▫Look in your class period’s folder for your work. ▫I will speak with you about work before and after class. Tardies: ▫Do not disrupt the class in progress. ▫Follow any instructions already on the board. ▫I will speak with you after/during instruction.

14. Classroom Discussions Participate. I want to hear what YOU have to say. Make all questions and comments relevant to the current discussion. – No squirrel moments, please. If your question is off topic, write it down and ask me later. I want to hear what you have to say.

15. Moving Around the Room You must ask permission. Do not ask during classroom instruction, unless it is an absolute emergency. Handle your business before instruction begins.

16. Class Dismissed… I will dismiss you, not the bell. Do not start packing up early. Wait until I am finished and say, “Have a good day!” I will keep you after the bell if I see fit.
