4 Classroom Guidelines

5 Guideline #1 Be in your assigned seat and working on the assigned bell work when the tardy bell rings.

6 Guideline #2 Be attentive and participate in classroom discussions.

7 Guideline #3 Show respect for yourself and those around you by your dress, speech, and positive attitude.

8 Complete daily homework assignments to the best of your ability. Guideline #4

9 Homework Email me if/when you get stuck on a homework problem. Skip the problem(s) but keep working on the rest of the assignment. I will make every effort to contact you via phone, email, or text.

10 There will be NO eating or chewing gum in class. You may have bottled water. Guideline #5

11 Treat school property with respect; dispose of trash properly. Guideline #6

12 ALL electronic devices must remain off and in your backpack or you will have the device confiscated and it will be sent to the office. Guideline #7

13 Electronics Electronics: These include Phones, I-Pads, Tablets etc. No Headphones in Ears. Not even one ear. First time -Warning. Second Time - Confiscation until end of period. Third time - taken up and sent to the office.

14 Special Guideline This classroom is a “No Whining Zone”. That means that there will be no whining, for ANY reason. Everything that I do is in your best interest, so please…respect the “No Whining Zone” this year.

15 Guidelines Signature Page Read it Sign it Have your parents read and sign.

16 Following Guidelines will result in: Verbal Acknowledgement A Stress free learning environment A pleasant and orderly classroom atmosphere

17 Not Following Guidelines will result in: 1 st – Warning and documentation 2 nd – Detention – Afterschool 3r d – Action Plan, Parental Contact 4 th – Disciplinary Referral

18 Severe Clause Any student who uses profanity, fights, damages school property (this includes the property of the teacher and other students), or is disrespectful (as defined by the teacher) will be sent to the office IMMEDIATELY.

20 Entering the room Please enter quietly Have a seat Take out your materials Review the agenda Begin bell work assignment

21 When you are tardy Enter quietly Excused: Place excuse in the basket on the bookcase Have a seat and take out your materials

22 Getting your attention I will: Stand in front of the class Raise my hand Wait for everyone to be quiet Begin speaking

23 Paper Heading Upper right corner of paper: Name Date Top Line Page number and assignment numbers

24 Criteria for Credit 1. All work must be completed in PENCIL. 2. ALL WORK must be shown to receive full credit.

25 Criteria for Credit 3. All work shown in vertical columns, NOT across the page. 4.Answers highlighted or boxed.

26 After an absence Go to the homework folder Copy the homework Retrieve any handouts

27 Student Responsibility Sheet Student Responsibility Sheet This is for students who do not have the assigned homework Fill it out Sign and date it Turn it in with the homework papers

29 What Do I Do Next? Activities Work on unfinished Math assignments Review vocabulary words Start working on tonight's homework

30 Scheduled check out Please let me know as you enter the classroom. –I will be at the door Quietly raise your hand to get my attention Pack your materials and leave at the scheduled time If it is an emergency, quickly get my attention and I will assist you.

31 Turning in papers One person in each group collects the papers. Make sure everyone has put their name on their paper/ I will come by and collect all stacks

32 Classroom Discussions PLEASE participate I want to hear what you have to say Make all questions and comments relevant to the current discussion If your question is off the topic, write it down and ask later.

33 Moving around the room You must ask permission Do not ask during a classroom discussion unless it is an emergency

34 Class Dismissal I will dismisses you, not the bell Do not start packing up prior to the bell Wait until I finish and officially dismiss you “Have a nice day ”

35 “Special” Procedures These will be introduced on an “as needed” basis Computer Lab Special guests Progress Reports Working Cooperatively Fire Drill Intercom Announcements Assemblies Substitute Teacher
