Classroom Procedures Ms. Haut

Entering the Classroom Enter class respectfully and pick up YOUR Quick Quiz and any other papers to be returned. Look for the different piles of work Sit in YOUR seat before the tardy bell rings. You are tardy if you are out of your seat when the bell rings. Take out the previous day’s homework and/or class work. Begin working on the Quick Quiz or warm-up activity. Work will be collected as soon as I take attendance When you are finished, review homework, previous day’s work. There could be a POP Quiz at any time.☺ Sit quietly.

If you were Absent, What did you Miss? Check the posted agenda Get work stamped or turn in work collected Determine what class activities you missed—lab, notes, quiz, test, etc. Get missed homework assignment

If you were Absent and Missed a Quick Quiz Missed quick quiz indicated by a line drawn across the box It is your responsibility to bring the quick quiz to me with the attendance admit in order for me to give you the 2 points. You must get the missed quick quiz cleared prior to starting the next one in order to receive those points. You will not receive points when the quick quiz is totaled and recorded.

Passing in Papers All papers must have the proper heading in the Upper right-hand corner. Name—First and Last Date Period You will lose points if you do not have the proper heading Matilda Waltzing 8/20/05 Period 2

Passing in Papers Pass your paper to the front of your row. Students in the front of the row, pass papers to the right. I will collect paper from the “paper collector”.

Leaving the Classroom Clean & put away all class materials. Books should be put on the shelves in order Pick up litter on or around your desk and throw in garbage. Sit in your assigned seat. Make sure you have copied homework and you have all handouts. Sit and wait for me to dismiss you. Have a good day!!

Section 3: Class Homework Assignment Calendar Chapter Packet--homework Handouts associated with the chapter Date them and keep in the order received

Section 4: Laboratory handouts Lined paper and graph paper

Binder Maintenance Neat and organized Papers in the correct sections All papers and handouts must be hole-punched and inserted into the 3-rings of the binder Homework not in the 3-rings will not be stamped! Random Binder Checks Anything that falls out is thrown away!!

To print out PowerPoint version On the class website, click on the appropriate notes If dialog box asks to open or save file, select save Once saved, open file in PowerPoint program From menu bar click on file Print Print what?—select “outline view” or “handouts” If “handouts” selected choose 3 slides per page Color/grayscale—select “grayscale”

Notes must be Cornell Note Format Must have question section to the left of the notes Questions must line up with answers At least 5 questions per day of notes Must have ONE summary for each day of notes
