Presentation transcript:

Rule 1: Bring All Needed Materials To Class! Rationale: Students always need to bring their supplies to school. If they have a problem with supplies, they should come talk with me. How To Teach Rule: If they do not have needed materials, they will get a discipline mark on the roll sheet.

Rule 2: Eat Discretely And Cleanly Rationale: I will allow them to eat but it must be discrete and unnoticeable. I also do not want bugs in my room so they must pick up after themselves. How To Teach Rule: If I see trash or crumbs on the floor, I will not let any of the students leave until it is cleaned or thrown away.

Rule 3: We Raise Our Hand To Talk Rationale: I do not want 25 kids yelling all at once. I find it very annoying. How To Teach Rule: I will give out candy to the person who raises their hand and doesn’t blurt out the answer if someone decides to.

Rule 4: Cell Phones Permitted Only For Educational Purposes Rationale: They should be paying attention to the lesson, not what their boyfriend/girlfriend has to say. How To Teach Rule: If I see a texter, the phone is gone. The students will not text in class. I also know all the tricks (backpack on desk, in the jacket, side of the desk, behind textbook…ect.)

Rule 5: DO YOUR WORK! Rationale: How will they learn and pass the class if they don’t do their work? How To Teach Rule: If I see them doing work, they will get a treat and if they’re not, they will get a discipline tally on the roll sheet.

My desk Excelling student ESOL Problem student Excelling student ESE BOARD Paper Statio n Suppli es PSPS Book Shelf DOOR Relaxation Station beanbag Bean bag

Supplies and Paper: The turn in box will be here and where all my supplies will be, (paper, pencils, calculators…ect.) and they are by my desk because I do not want anyone stealing. My Desk: I have it in the back of the room so I can look at all my student and see everything that they are doing and I will be able to catch them cheating or texting. Also, it is by the supplies desk and projector so I have easy access to both and I can see if someone steals. Relaxation Station: Where the student can relax after their work has been checked off. Problem Student: I have the problem student near my desk so I can keep an eye on him/her. Excelling Students: I have one excelling student in between the ESOL and ESE students so they can help them in class if they need it. The other excelling student is next to my problem student so they can also help me keep them in check. Desks: I have them in rows and the students backs will be facing me. (My projector will be on the ceiling of the room)

If they are doing well and staying on task, they will be praised or given a treat. If they get a A on a quiz/test, they will be given a piece of candy, and if they get an A on a exam, they will be given a full candy bar of their choice. If they do their HW for 3 ½ weeks consecutively(half the quarter), they will be given a HW pass.

1.They will first be warned 2. Isolate desk from rest of the students/send out to hall to talk 3.Call home 4.Referral

At the beginning of every class, there will be a bell work problem on the board and they will be doing that the first 5 min of class while I go around and take roll, check HW, and see if they are doing the bell work. After we go over the bell work, I will start the lesson. When finished with the lesson, I will give them class work and it will be checked off as HW the next day. All papers will be given to the person at the front of each row and they will pass it back. No one will be allowed to go to the restroom in the middle of a lesson. They will be allowed to sharpen pencils the first 5 minutes of class and right before the lesson and right after. They will have their own workbooks and will not need their textbook for the class. All supplies with be the supplies desk and will be allowed to visit when I am not instructing. When everything is clean and put away they will be allowed to go, the bell doesn’t dismiss them, I do. They will not have to turn in work, I will go around and check their work. Quizzes and Tests will be turned in to me where ever I am in the room. I will take attendance as I go around and check HW
