Questionnaire Analysis Analysis of questionnaire given out to research the interest of film/magazine interests within a certain demographic.

Introduction To get a more broad opinion and satisfactory results of research into other genre’s and interests into film magazines. I produced a questionnaire of both open and closed questions-the use of quantitative and qualitative to achieve a good view of the opinions of a diverse demographic. This questionnaire was given out to both male and female to avoid a bias result and age group ranging from16 to 44+ My questionnaire was given out to 15 individuals Aim:

Quantitative data Q1. What is your gender? 47%53% This pie chart shows that more females were asked than males. Although I should have got an equal amount for both genders for a fair judgement but the difference is not a great deal and should not effect my intended target audience.

Quantitative data Q2. Age? This bar graph shows that out of the total participants involved in my questionnaire aged was the majority. I should of distributed it to a equal amount of each age group to analyse in what age group has the best interest in the genre for my upcoming film.

Quantitative data Q3. Please state ethnicity? The pie chart shows that the majority of people who took part in my questionnaire were Black British with the stat of 53%, 33% being British, 14% Asian and 0% Other. This results indicates that my questionnaire best represents Black British culture. 53% 33% 14%

Quantitative data Q4. How often do you watch films in the cinema? This graph shows that the majority do not watch films in the cinema regularly. There are more convenient ways of watching films such as watching them via websites, downloads and possible subscription to TV network. This can be the reason for the poor rankings in watching films in the cinema.

Quantitative data Q6. What is your occupation? Occupation The result from age clearly showed the majority of my sample were aged justifying the high lead of unemployed rank as most participants were students. As the majority is categorised in social- economic group B-E explains the result for the previous slide on tendency to watch film in the cinema, lower income can have an impact on willing expenditure on films.

Quantitative data Q7. What genre are you most interested in? 40% 20% 7% 13% This pie chart shows that the most popular genre in comedy. The lack of having a broader range of age may effect the most favourable genre. On the other hand, from the sample used- it’s of advantage comedy is most popular as its a sub genre for my new film suggesting it could possible appeal to a large audience.

Quantitative/Qualitative data Q8.Do you enjoy teen rom-coms, if yes why? Luckily the results show most respondents enjoy teenage rom-coms, which is significantly beneficial for my film as it is potentially suitable for a large audience. reasons given as to why... “this genre makes ‘feel good’ films” “I'm always in the mood for a typical teen flick” “It has great storylines that most of the time can be related to ” “ watching romance and comedy at once, even though their quite predictable i still enjoy them.” “I enjoy love stories especially the guy-gets-girl scenario.” -and so forth, positive feedback giving ideas for new film.

Quantitative Q9. Do you enjoy watching film trailers and in what particular genre? The column shows that most people enjoy watching film trailers as most of the time the trailer is what influences going to watch the film. The most enjoyable trailer is horror/thriller surprisingly- as it was the least favoured film genre.
