YOU SHOULD HAVE… 1 pencil pouch with a neon orange booklet 1 colored ‘unit booklet’ 2 brass fasteners 1 daily work sheet 1 lab/activity form something to write with…

The POUCH this is where you will keep EVERYTHING from class…you may keep it in the room or take it home with you, but you only get ONE, so don’t lose it!!

The ORANGE BOOKLET this is your reference material for the ENTIRE YEAR! You may use the booklet on every test, quiz, project we do without any point penalty. included in the booklet: -expectations & syllabus (with daily calendar) -procedures, strategies, and rubrics for all the activities we will do in class -formulas & constants you do NOT have to memorize!! -helpful info. for english & math **AGAIN… you only get ONE, so don’t lose it!!**

The SYLLABUS Grades DAILY WORK (40% of your grade): END-OF-UNIT PROJECTS (30% of your grade) UNIT QUIZES(15% of your grade) FINAL(s) (15% of your grade)

Policies Entering Class Enter quietly, collect materials for the day from table near door, take your seat, and independently begin the summary page and ‘check-in’ in your notebook. Exiting Class Complete ‘check-out’ in your notebook, quietly pack up and wait to be dismissed by ME, not the bell!! Tardy/Absent If you are tardy or absent to class, you will lose those respective points of your daily allotment. Tardy and attendance points may NOT be made-up, so be here every class, and be on time!! Bathroom 5 bathroom passes per semester, so use them wisely! After they are gone, each trip will cost you your daily participation points! Make Up Work and Late Work Late work can be turned in for 50% credit. For those with EXCUSED absences, make up work may be turned in for full credit. If your absence is UNEXCUSED, make up work will be worth 50% credit.

Expectations Be PreparedCome to class ready to learn with appropriate materials and attire Be Punctual In your seat with appropriate materials by the time the bell rings EVERY DAY that class is in session!! NOTE: pink=left green=right) -there will be one vocabulary word every day for which you will fill out the ‘word map’ -Lab work will be done on the lab/activity form and added separately into the unit booklet (same goes for homework) -The day will end by SUMMARIZING your cornell notes and completing the ‘check-out’ …So get started!! :o)

The UNIT PACKET -Fill out unit form -Use colored sheet, brass fasteners, and daily form to create the beginnings of your unit packet -continue to add lab sheets, homework, etc. -Repeat daily until unit is over and trade-in for the unit quiz/test
