G UIDELINE #1 Be in your assigned seat and working on the assigned “DO NOW” work when the bell rings.

G UIDELINE #2 Bring ALL books and materials to class and take them with you or put them away when you leave.

G UIDELINE #3 Follow directions the first time they are given.

G UIDELINE #4 Treat each person in this room with respect and dignity.

G UIDELINE #5 Follow all procedures and policies as outlined in the UCVTS and Magnet High School handbooks. All students will be treated fairly and impartially.

S PECIAL G UIDELINE This classroom is a “No Whining Zone” That means that there will be no whining for ANY reason. Everything that I do is in your best interest, so please respect the “No Whining Zone”.

S EVERE C LAUSE Any student who uses profanity, fights, damages school property (this includes the property of the teacher and other students), or is disrespectful (as defined by the teacher) will be sent to the office IMMEDIATELY.

C LASSROOM P ROCEDURES Entering the Room  Please enter quietly.  Pick up all worksheets and materials.  Have a seat before the bell.  Review the agenda.  Begin “DO NOW” assignment.

C LASSROOM P ROCEDURES When You Are Tardy...  Enter quietly.  Excused: Place excuse in the basket on my desk  Unexcused: Sign Loss of Privilege list on top of the bookshelf by my desk.  Have a seat and take out your materials.  Review the agenda.  Begin “DO NOW” assignment.

C LASSROOM P ROCEDURES WHEN I WANT YOUR ATTENTION I WILL...  Stand in front of the class  Raise my hand  Wait for everyone to be quiet  Begin speaking

C LASSROOM P ROCEDURES AFTER AN ABSENCE...  Classroom work missed will be in your file folder.  You will have one week from your return to get all of your work turned in to Mrs. Kipp  Schedule make-up tests with Mrs. Kipp the first day back to school.

C LASSROOM P ROCEDURES “WHAT DO I DO NEXT” ACTIVITIES  Read a book from the classroom collection  Work on tonight’s homework  Practice your lettering skills  You may not put your head down or do any other work!

C LASSROOM P ROCEDURES TURNING IN PAPERS...  When you have completed your assignments, if it is to be turned in, place it in the bin on Mrs. Kipp’s desk when you are dismissed.

C LASSROOM P ROCEDURES CLASSROOM DISCUSSIONS...  Active Participation  I want to hear what you have to say!  Make all questions and comments relevant to the current discussion.  If your question is off the topic, write it down and ask later.

C LASSROOM P ROCEDURES GETTING UP FROM YOUR DESK...  You MUST ask permission.  Do not ask during a class discussion or lecture unless it is an emergency.  Keep all trash at your desk until the end of class.  You may sharpen your pencils when needed unless we are in the middle of a lecture, test, discussion or video.

C LASSROOM P ROCEDURES ASSIGNMENTS...  You MUST complete assignments and hand them in the day they are due if you are in attendance. If you do not hand it in you will receive a zero.

C LASSROOM P ROCEDURES ASSIGNMENTS...  Assignments and projects with due date given 1 week or more ahead of time must be handed in on the due date or BEFORE. Failure to hand in the assignment on time will result in a ZERO. PLAN AHEAD!

C LASSROOM P ROCEDURES SCHEDULED CHECK OUT...  Please let me know when you enter the classroom or quietly raise your hand to get my attention.  Pack your materials and leave at the scheduled time QUIETLY  If it is an emergency, quickly get my attention and I will assist you.

C LASSROOM P ROCEDURES CLASS DISMISSAL...  The Instructor dismisses you NOT the bell.  Do Not start packing up prior to the bell.  Wait until the instructor finishes and dismisses you with “Have a nice day!”

C LASSROOM P ROCEDURES CLASS DISMISSAL...  Before leaving, place all materials back where they originated.

C LASSROOM P ROCEDURES SPECIAL PROCEDURES...  These will be introduced on an “as needed” basis.  Special guests  Fire Drill  Intercom Announcements  Assemblies  Substitute Teacher
