Say what people use direct and reported speech for DIRECT SPEECH REPORTED SPEECH She says: “I phone my friends every day.” She says (that) she phones her friends every day. She says: “I will phone you tomorrow.” She says (that) she’ll phone me tomorrow. She says: “I phoned you an hour ago.” She says (that) she phoned me an hour.
