Instructions for Registration Teacher recommendation days are Thursday, January 25th and Friday, January 26th. You will receive a transcript and course selection sheet in first period on Thursday to assist you with this process. Course Catalogs may be viewed online at www.pwcs.edu . Directions for selecting courses on Parent Portal are available on Potomac’s website. If you have difficulty accessing the catalog or directions, please see your school counselor.
Instructions for Registration Continued On Tuesday, January 30th, you and your parents will have access to the Course Request Module in Parent Portal. Please refer to the school website for Student Instructions for Entering Course Requests and viewing teacher recommendations. You will have access to this feature from January 30th- February 5th.
Instructions for Registration Continued Beginning on February 7th, counselors will begin meeting individually with students to discuss and finalize course selections. Please make sure that you and your parents have selected your courses in Parent Portal prior to the visit with your counselor. Consultations will occur through English classrooms. Please consult with your English teacher for your scheduled date.

Credit Requirements Remember! Being promoted to the next grade is based on the number of credits you earn. To be a sophomore, you need at least 5 credits! That means passing 5 out of 7 of the classes you take as a freshman. To be a junior, you need at least 11 credits. To be a senior, you should have at least 16 credits.
General Information Do not sign up for two core classes in the same area. Forms required for AICE/AP courses (See Counselor) Check with your Counselor regarding applications and deadlines for Nursing, Cosmetology, Culinary, Project Lead the Way, Cyber Security, Welding and other Career and Technical Education courses. As Always, make an appointment with your Counselor if you have any questions or need assistance.
