StudentVue USING STUDENTVUE TO ENTER REQUESTS Instructions are on the Website MUST BE IN STUDENTVUE. ParentVue has view access only Courses that are available will appear. If you do not meet the pre-requisite, a message in large red print will appear. You MUST select 3 alternates for electives in the order that you want them, or it will not allow you to save your requests. Once you meet with your counselor, the requests will be locked, and any changes must be requested in writing.

GUIDELINES Students MUST take eight (8) credits per year. There is one exception to this rule: - Seniors who have written permission from a parent/guardian, and have met graduation requirements, may take six credits and be released after third block each semester.

GUIDELINES  Students may take only one core English and Social Studies course per year.  Students may take more than one Math, Science, or Elective Course keeping within the course sequence.  Music students must NOT take Physical Education in Summer School.

GUIDELINES Music courses are scheduled in a modified block format (A/B days) as follows:  Freshmen – Music / PE 9  Sophomores – Music / PE 10  Juniors – Music / Honors US History or Econ/Finance  Seniors – Music / Gov’t, Honors Gov’t, or AP Gov’t Choose ALL elective courses CAREFULLY, including three alternates. The program will automatically use an elective if there is a conflict. Electives will be used in the order in which they are listed in the Course Requests. (Cont’d )

PROGRAMS Governor’s School for the Arts (GSArts) This is a afternoon program only and includes the fine arts areas of Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Dance, Visual Arts, and Theatre Arts. Chesapeake Center for Science & Technology (CCST) These are either A.M. (blocks 1 and 2) or P.M. (blocks 3 and 4) programs in the areas of Technology, Health, Trade & Industrial, Human Service, and Communications.

PROGRAMS CCST and Governor’s School of the Arts programs require an application. If you are interested in one of these programs, pick up an application in Guidance Office as soon as possible. See Mr. Markin an application for the CCST programs if you have not already gotten one. Deadline is February 25 th. Important to remember: These are 3 credit full year courses that meet every day and they cannot be dropped after the first 5 days of school. (cont’d)

 Classes can only be offered if there are enough students to request them. There must be a minimum of 15 students to request a class for it to be offered.  NEW FOR 16-17: We will offer Meteorology as a science class in the 2016-2017 school year, IF there are enough people to request the class. It will not appear on the course selection sheet, but it will appear in the online course requests. You can write the class on the sheet if you want to take it.  Be sure that you choose AP classes carefully. Year-long AP Courses can only be dropped in the 1 st 5 days of the year. Two credits are earned by the class, and the grade will be included in the GPA twice.  Due to the complexity of the master schedule, changes to requests after the selection process may not be honored. To Keep In Mind
