9 First-Hour Class Must take 7 classes
Click on the IRHS Counseling website to download the first-hour contract Click on the Registration tab and find the link on the right side of the page

10 FIRST-HOUR CONTRACT Contract should be printed from the Counseling website Must have own transportation — no bus! Turn it in with the Course Request Form with parent/guardian signature Classes may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment In April, check with your counselor to ensure your class is offered The contract does not guarantee you will receive a first-hour class.

12 CTE/Fine Arts Classes In-state colleges now accept a CTE or Fine Art credit for admission If you are planning on going out of state – please check the websites of the universities you are interested in for their requirements

13 The Bottom Line Use your 4-Year Plan and your transcript to determine exactly which credits are needed to meet your graduation requirements and which classes best prepare you for college and career Talk with ALL of your teachers about classes for next year ……. now  Talk to your parents/guardian about your choices and decisions

15 A COUPLE OF REMINDERS Choose your classes carefully. Consider the rigor of each and how much time each class will require so that you don’t overload yourself. If you are considering a D1, D2, or D3 school as an athlete – check out the NCAA Eligibility Center. The NCAA no longer accepts credits from certain online programs. Familiarize yourself with pages 8 & 9 of the Course Catalog. Counselors use these pages to determine the rules, guidelines and policies regarding schedules.

Meet in the library computer lab during your English class to enter your course requests Write clearly Complete thoroughly and please include: Parent/Guardian signature Teacher signatures First-hour contract if needed Transcript attached
