6 Advanced Placement Tech Prep Running Start Sno-Isle Tech
College Credit Opportunities in H.S. Advanced Placement College in the High School Tech Prep Running Start Sno-Isle Tech There are four avenues for students to earn college credit while they are in high school. For more detail, look on Pages 9 – 11 in the Course Description Book.

7 We are providing this four-year plan sheet to 9th grades as a worksheet to help in registering for 9th grade. This is for your own use, and does not need to be turned back in. The classes that are written into each grade level should be taken at that grade level. The other requirements for graduation and for college entrance written below the four squares may be taken at any time. Even though we are only registering students for 9th grade classes at this time, plans for the other three years impact decisions made for 9th grade. For example, if you plan to eventually take AP Art, you need to be sure there is room in your schedule to take Art 1 before you take Art 2, then Art 3 and finally AP Art. We know that plans change , but at least this is a place to start.

11 Our goal is to create a schedule for each student that consists of the classes he/she needs to graduate and that meets his/her future education and career goals.  Each student creates a High School & Beyond Plan (4-year plan) and chooses his/her classes during Registration in the spring.  We build our master schedule based on student requests.  All schedules are reviewed by Counselors for accuracy.  It is very important that students carefully read course descriptions and choose appropriate alternate options when registering.  After schedules are created based on our thorough Registration process, only legitimate schedule change requests will be considered.  Please see page 4 in the Course Description Book for more information.

15 Don’t Forget! Online Registration Due Tuesday, February 28th
This is the registration form that will be turned back in to the GPHS counseling staff on February 27. Please take some time and care in filling it out. We will do our best to honor these choices. Since master scheduling , hiring teachers, and many other decisions are based on choices students make on these forms, we have limited ability to make changes to these student choices next year. Of course, we will make sure that students are placed in appropriate required classes. Four periods a day will be in required classes (English, Science, Math and Focus (1 semester) and Washington State History (1 semester) The other two periods are for elective classes. This can be two year-long classes, four semester-long classes or a combination. These can also be required classes that can be taken any year, such as PE, Art, and Occupational requirements. IMPORTANT: Students must fill in the Alternate spaces. If we are unable to place students in the electives they choose, we need to have alternates that students will be willing to take. They may actually get those alternate classes!
