Ms. Glenn Classroom Rules & Procedures

Cell phones You are expected to put your cell phone away IMMEDIATELY when the tardy bell rings! If I see and/or hear your phone, you will get ONE warning to put it away. At any point after that, you will be expected to turn in your phone to me and the appropriate disciplinary procedure will be followed. NO EXCEPTIONS!

tARDIES Be on time for class!!! If you are tardy to 1st period, you MUST sign in , in the office before coming to class. If you are late too 2nd or 3rd period, you must have a note from a teacher and/or administrator in order to receive an excused tardy. Otherwise, it will count as unexcused. *Please note in your student handbook the consequences for unexcused tardies starting with the 4th tardy! .

Tardies (continued) If another teacher requires your presence for an extended amount of time, I will need PRIOR notification from them BEFORE you miss my class time; otherwise, you will be counted absent and/or tardy to class “unexcused”. *Please do not plan to use this class time for doing homework, etc. for another class unless you have completed ALL of the necessary assignments for me.

Daily information/essential questions (eq’s) Upon arriving to class, you need to read the board and be aware of the information posted there. Important dates, things to remember and daily instructions will be listed there! You will also see the Essential Standard that we will cover that day in class, along with essential questions you need to be able to answer.

Bathroom visits These will be limited and require permission & signing out of the room. If you receive permission to leave, you MUST carry the hall pass with you & return it to the proper location when you come back. You will not be allowed to go to the restroom during the first 15 minutes of class nor the last 15 minutes of class (unless it is an obvious emergency). Use your 5 minutes between classes to go to the restroom & take care of other business instead of socializing. Do not plan “daily” ritual trips out of the room! If you have a medical problem that requires more than normal use of the restroom, you will be allowed to go as necessary if and when I receive a doctors’ statement.

Intercom announcements You will be expected to be SILENT and LISTEN to the announcements from the office that occur during your respective class time . You will also be expected to STAND during the Pledge of Allegiance as requested by Mr. Penley and observe the moment of silence.

Food/drinks ONLY clear bottled water will be allowed in this classroom! No food, candy and/or other drink in travel cups, etc. will be allowed. Please be careful not to spill your water on the computers---you will be held accountable!

workstations You are expected to leave the room with your workstation area clean and neat EACH day! Be mindful that other students use this same workstation. Please refrain from combing your hair, doing makeup, etc. around the computer keyboards. Put your trash in the trashcan! If you leave a mess, I will call you back to class to clean it up! There is a recycle bin for empty water bottles. If you find something amiss at your station when you come to class, please let me know immediately! Rolling around in the chairs unnecessarily WILL NOT BE ALLOWED!

ASSIGNED SEATING In a few days, there will be assigned seats! You are expected to stay in your assigned seat during the entire class unless otherwise instructed!!! If you have a computer issue that requires moving, I will assign you to another seat as necessary.

homework I do not assign homework on a daily basis. However, if there is an assignment that you do not finish during class time, it will be your responsibility to finish it for homework!

Classroom printer Students are not allowed access to the printer unless instructed. If you need to print something for reasons other than what is required for my class, you will need to ask permission before printing. Permission will be granted dependent upon what is being printed.

Lunch 3rd period We will have 3rd lunch at 12:15-12:40. Seniors ONLY will be allowed a 5 minute early dismissal to lunch. Please be mindful that if you return late back to class from lunch period without a note from a teacher/administrator, you will receive an unexcused TARDY!!!

Class entry & dismissal As you enter the classroom each day, you are expected to pick up your daily materials (if any) from the table on your right and be in your assigned seat by the time the bell rings. You will be expected to remain in your seat until the dismissal bell rings at the end of class---NO STANDING IN THE DOORWAY waiting on the bell to ring.

Heading on all papers Please remember to identify your class turn-in assignments by putting your first & last name on your papers. Those turned in through Canvas and those printed in the classroom need to have the following: First and Last name Assignment name Class period Date I cannot give appropriate credit to you unless you follow these directions on your document. Otherwise, it will result in a ZERO!

Fire & tornado drills This classroom will go downstairs quickly, but orderly, to the EXIT that leads to the teacher parking lot. Move to the far side of the teacher parking lot nearest the road in front of the school. Form a line with your class so that roll can be checked. You are expected to return to the room with your class as soon as we are cleared to enter back into the building. We will move to the downstairs hallway for a Tornado Drill. Please know where these evacuation maps are located in the classroom! (front door)
