7th Grade SoCial Studies Ms. Garcia’s and Mr. Vedra’s Classroom Procedures

Daily Supplies Needed Agenda Blue or Black pen Pencil/paper Social Studies Notebook (1 inch binder with 5 dividers. Lables: 1) Warmups 2) Georgraphy, 3) History, 4) Government, 5) Economics

Daily Class Procedures--Upon entering the classroom Go directly to your seat Get prepared-sharpen your pencil (If you do not have a pencil, borrow one, or see me before the bell rings Copy the agenda with homework Complete the Warm-up Take out any previously assigned work

Classroom Behavior Expectations Be Prepared- Come prepared to learn, work completed on time Be Polite-raise your hand, don’t blurt out-DON’T TALK WHILE TEACHER IS TALKING Be Respectful -Respect yourself, peers and teachers Don’t disrupt the classroom learning environment-sing, make noises, or beat on desks Familiarize yourself with the behavior expectations on the board

Classroom Behavior Expectations Use the restroom and go to your locker between classes. Restroom passes will be signed only in an emergency. You must wait to be recognized DO NOT INTERUPT THE TEACHER FOR PERMISSION TO LEAVE THE CLASSROOM. No Name papers are in the NO NAME drawer. I will not ask you to go look for your missing paper.

Class Dismissal Students are to clean area/pack up when directed by teacher Students are to remain seated until they are dismissed by the teacher not the bell

Make Up Work Make Up Work is in the green hanging folder by the book case. It is your responsibility to get make up work during homeroom. Students get one day for each day absent to make up assignments. Work turned in late is subject to a late work penalty.

Homework/Classwork Unfinished classwork is to be finished for homework unless otherwise directed by the teacher Homework is assigned to reinforce skills covered in class. It is not busy work.

Homework/Classwork Homework is due at the beginning of class and credit is given only at that time Long term assignments are due on the original due date regardless of absences

Warm Ups Warm ups will vary. Keep all Warmups in your Social Studies Binder You must keep all warm ups for a warm up quiz. If absent, it is the student’s responsibility to get missing warm ups on the day of return to school(during home is best.). You may not get missing warm ups on the day of the quiz. Do not wait on me to tell you to get started, the bell is your cue.

Hall Behavior Hall behavior is part of the classroom behavior. When walking in the halls, students are to walk single file and quietly.

Grading All grades are standards based by weighted points. Points will be determined by the importance of the assignment and amount of time required to complete the assignment. Tests 40% Quizzes 20% Classwork 30% Warm ups/Homework 10%
