Assigned seats You will be in assigned seats based on alphabetical order. These seats will change during the semester for necessities or behavior issues.

Who am I??? Mr. Hernandez Born and raised in Wilmington I have 5 brothers Graduated from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelors in Physiological Science Currently attending California State University, Dominguez Hills to pursue my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction Talk about how I was born and raised in Wilmington, the struggles I faced in Mexico, my own personal college experience, and the struggle of my brother with ADHD

General Class Rules Bring all needed materials to class. Be in your seat and ready to work before the bell rings. Respect and be polite to everyone and their property. Raise your hand to speak or leave your seat. No food, drinks, or gum in class. (Water is allowed). Follow all school rules. No electronics in class.

Daily Procedure You will be tested at the door DAILY Enter the classroom QUIETLY and ready to learn (failure to do so will result in loss of points and asked to exit and re-enter classroom). Take out materials and place Daily Practice in the middle of the table to be collected. Sharpen Pencils BEFORE the beginning of class. Work on Dispatch Problem (Must show all work for dispatch or no stamp will be given) Note: If you do not get a stamp the first time the teachers come around, wait after the class ends to ask for one to prevent interruption of the instruction!!!!! Get ready for the class lectures by setting up your Cornell Notes There will be no pencil sharpening during the class.

When you are Tardy First of all, BE ON TIME. Tardies disrupt everyone, including yourself. Students will 1. Take their seat quietly and begin the class activities. Students will turn their homework in the Late Folder located next to the door at the end of the period. CONSEQUENCES 1st time warning and owe me the time you were tardy at nutrition and/or lunch 2nd time tardy policy standards/reflection (signed by parent Students, 3 tardies and you have earned an automatic “U” in Cooperation. You can not clear tardies.

Materials Math journal (graph paper) 3 or more pencils 2 different colored pens 2 highlighters Eraser Sharpener (or lead if mechanical pencil) School agenda Optional Ruler, pencil sharpener, pencil bag/case, color pencils, graph paper) At the end, make the announcement that you are selling the materials. Quad Notebook 1.00 each and pencil, 10 cents each.

Daily Practice There will be daily practice every night. Late daily practice will be accepted, with a note from your parent or parent conference/phone call. 1 point will be deducted automatically for every day that it is late. If receive a grade below 3 points, you will be asked to REDO the homework assignment and turn it in the following day. NO Daily Practice….Face the Consequences.. 1. Tutoring Homework help is available Monday 3:00-4:00 Wednesday and Thursday: 3:50-5:00 (This will change the third week of school) You will receive 3 extra credit points every time you come to tutoring. If you come all three sessions then you earn an extra point. (Total of 10 points per week!!!) Make up Exams will be done ONLY at this time. You will NOT be receiving extra credit points for this. If you are earning a grade below a C, you will be automatically required to attend tutoring at least once a week. A note will be sent home/parent phone call/conference will be made as needed.

Quizzes/Exams You will be getting a quiz/exam every Friday If you score a grade below a C, you will be required to stay afterschool the following Monday to retake the ENTIRE exam. For exams, you will be getting a Practice Exam and have a Jeopardy Review Surprise, you will be having your first quiz this Friday!!!
