Mrs. Dubisky’s 8th Grade Science Class Room 103

A little about me! Diana Dubisky Graduated college from Peace 2004 Bachelors in Biology (concentration in Microbiology) Minor in Modern Dance Teaching at HMMS since 05 Science Olympiad Coach

Morning/Opening Procedure Please enter room quietly and place your belongings on your desk Place your homework in the designated bin Take out Science Book, notebook and writing utensil Refer to the board for instructions Warm UP: assignment or reading pages will be on the board. Wait for teacher to give further instructions

Roll-taking Procedure Teacher will take attendance while students are at their desks and working on the Warm Up assignment. If student is not at their desk at time of attendance, then student will be marked as absent

Tardy Procedure Sign the tardy sheet by the door. Two tardy days will result in conference with student Three tardy days will result in a phone call home. Four tardy days will result in Team D-Hall. If tardiness becomes a habit then office Referral.

Absence Procedure Students must bring an excuse note to homeroom. All missed work must be completed within three consecutive school days. Students may check Edmodo accounts for missing work as well.

Homework Procedure Students will place homework in the homework bin first thing when they get to class unless told to do otherwise. Sometimes we will go over the homework during class. There will not be makeup homework assignments, unless you are absent. Homework will be corrected and returned within 7 days.

Procedure for Getting the Class’s Attention I will… Stand in front of class. Put up 5 fingers (high five). Wait for class to be quiet Begin speaking

Procedure for Quieting the Class I will… Stand in front of class. Count down very slowly Wait for class to be quiet Begin Speaking

Procedure for Getting Teacher’s Attention If you have to ask a question or make a comment: Raise your hand and hold up all five fingers.

Collecting Papers Procedure Place papers on the desk to their left. Students will not pass papers to each other I will come and collect the papers Demonstration/Rehearsal time*

Distributing Papers Procedure Same as collecting papers procedure This time the teacher will hand out enough papers for each row of students Take one paper and place the rest of the papers on the desk to your left. You will not pass papers to each other Demonstration/Rehearsal time*

Classroom Rules Be on time Come to class prepared to do work (book, notebook, pencil, etc.) Follow directions and procedures Raise your hand if you have a question or answer Respect your teacher and fellow classmates Do not speak while others are speaking Clean up after yourself
