Sixth Grade English Mrs. Campbell Late / Incomplete Work 2016-2017 Late / Incomplete Work Absentee Policy 2016-2017 * My expectation is that ALL assignments be completed to the student’s highest level of proficiency and turned in on time. If an assignment is turned in, but his or her best effort is not demonstrated, the assignment will be returned to the student and the work must be completed / redone until proficiency is achieved. The assignment will not receive a grade until proficiency is earned. * Parents will be contacted every time an assignment is late or receives lower than a 80%.. * Printer and Internet issues are not an excuse for late work. * YES, WE DID SOMETHING IMPORTANT WHILE YOU WERE ABSENT. It is the student’s responsibility to check the homework board, look on NetClassroom, or ask a friend to find any assignments missed. * A student has two extra days to turn in any work assigned on a day a student was absent. If a quiz was administered on a day a student was absent, the quiz must be made up on the first day the student returns. If previously assigned work was due on the day of the absence, the work is due on the first day the student returns. Food and Drink Water, with a closable lid, and snacks (fruit, a granola bar, small bag of chips, etc.) are allowed in my classroom. Each student is responsible for cleaning up after him/herself. This privilege may be revoked at anytime. Plagiarism Cheating Plagiarism is the taking ideas and writings of another and passing them off as one’s own. In this class, plagiarism includes... 1. turning in another’s work as one’s own 2. copying work from a friend before class (or while in another class) 3. including a source but failing to cite it 4. copying an author’s exact words and passing them off as one’s own Students caught plagiarizing will be given a ZERO for the assignment. * The teacher will notify the administration and contact parents if cheating / plagiarism is suspected. * The student will be given a zero for that particular test or assignment. * The student will receive a minimum of one detention. I, ________________________________________, have read and understand the rules and expectations for Sixth Grade English. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to contact my teacher if I have any questions or concerns. I know that this syllabus, assignments, calendars, and resources are available to me on NetClassroom or in my OneNote notebook at any time. I know that assignments can be submitted either by-hand or digitally at any time, and that printer/computer/flash drive issues are not an excuse for late work. I understand that there will be a quiz over the information on this syllabus to ensure I read and understand the rules and expectations.
