Tx. Hist. 7th Monceaux Late / Incomplete Work Absentee Policy This is an Honors/Pegasus Class. Late work will not be accepted. Things happen. In the event of an emergency, it is the student’s responsibility to come to be before or as soon as the emergency happens to discuss possible exceptions to this rule. Parents coming to me on a student’s behalf will not be granted an exception. Printer and Internet issues are not an excuse for late work. No name papers will be left in the tray until the end of the grading period. If I don’t know whose it is, I cannot give credit in the gradebook. * YES, WE DID SOMETHING IMPORTANT WHILE YOU WERE ABSENT. It is the student’s responsibility to check the missing work crate. If you don’t get them; don’t be upset when you have a zero. Students have the number of days they missed plus one to turn in missing assignments. Make-up tests will only be done before or after school. Make arrangements or the major grade will become a major ZERO. Technology We will use phones in class from time to time. You will know when it is time to use your phone. If you are unsure ask. If you are using you phone during a non-phone time; it will be taken up and turned into the office. If you are using you phone for non-sanctioned activities (snapchat, games, music); it will be taken up and turned into the office. Do not put me in that position. It will make you want to call me mean things because YOU made poor choices. All students will join a Google Classroom. There may be readings, videos, quizzes, and other assignments students are asked to do on Google Classroom. This will likely take place outside to class. If you do not have access to the internet at home, it is your responsibility to come to my room or the library before or after school. They will be for a grade. Google Classroom code: Plagiarism Cheating Plagiarism is the taking ideas and writings of another and passing them off as one’s own. In this class, plagiarism includes... 1. turning in another’s work as one’s own 2. copying work from a friend before class (or while in another class) 3. including a source but failing to cite it 4. copying an author’s exact words and passing them off as one’s own Students caught plagiarizing will be given a ZERO for the assignment. * The teacher will notify the administration and contact parents if cheating / plagiarism is suspected. * The student will be given a zero for that particular test or assignment. REMIND DUTIES Remind is a texting program that allows me to send out messages to all of my students and parents. It is free to use. There is a different code for parents and students. Please be sure you sign up for the correct one. We share this classroom. Therefore, we must all work together to keep our classroom looking nice. Your duty will depend on your seat. Every Duty will be done regardless of the number of people at a given table. In the case of an empty duty, the number below that duty will be responsible for both duties.
