Classroom Procedures Mrs. Blount 1/21/2016

Start on Time/Tardy Policy  All Classes will be locked after the bell rings.  During the first 10 minutes of class, no student will be allowed to leave the classroom.  If you are late, please report to the tardy table for an Administrative Tardy Slip.

Scenario  Joe is just making his way to the door as the bell rings.  Tardy or not tardy?  Tardy

Tardy Policy  Lunch detention the following school day  In School Detention (ISD) for missed lunch detentions and/or numerous tardy slips  ISD during Smart Lunch A/B

Bell Ringer or Opening Activities  Some type of assignment that can be done within the first ten minutes of class.  Sample Opening Activities  Vocabulary Games  Crossword Puzzles

Turning In Assignments  Turn-in Box (labeled 1st, 3rd, 4th)  Student Packets  Printed Work  Your name must be on everything

Returning work  Papers will be located in the PARKING LOT  Bins are labed for each class.  1 st Period (Top)  2 nd Period (Middle)  3 rd Period (3 rd Row)

Computer Use  Computers used for school work only!  Log-in using only your username and password.  Misuse of the computers can result in complete loss of privileges.  At the end of class please log off.

If you need help…  Before/After School in Room 146  Help Sessions  Smart Lunch (Please do not bring your friends). If you are in the lab you must be working. Monday (A)& Wednesday (B)  Make-up  Assignments  Quizzes  Tests Come on time. No need to login if you only have 10 min. remaining for the bell to ring. (Pointless – It will take at least 5 min. or.. to login. Don’t waste your time. Use all class time wisely!

Late Work  1-3 absences- one day per day out to make up assignments  >3 absences- two days per day out to make up assignments  If you are absent the day before a test/quiz you will still take the test/quiz.

While you were out  Activities/notes/assignments completed each day during class will be listed on  Class Weebly Page Class Weebly Page  It is your responsibility to check the class page daily or to ask me (not during instruction) to see what you missed. This will avoid class disruption and prevent delayed instruction for your classmates.

Scenario  Hailey was sick yesterday and returned to school on the day her project was due.  Is Hailey required to turn in the project? When?  Yes. When she returns.

Scenario  Hailey was sick yesterday and missed the exam  When is Hailey required to make-up her exam?  When she returns.

Printing  Only print what you need for this class, unless prior approval has been given.  Please try to conserve paper and resources

 Please remain in your seats  wait for the bell rings.  Reminder(s)  Bathroom visits not be permitted.  Go before the tardy bell rings.  Period 1- 9:11  Period 2- 10:40  Period 3- 12:09  Period 4- 2:18 Class Dismissal

Prompt  Please value my time, your time, and the time of your classmates.  Class starts when the bell rings.  If you are not in your seat ready to start class, logged in to the class page you are late.  FYI  Don’t come in socializing, having conversation.  You need that time to prep for class.  I will begin instructions when the bell rings;  Not when you login.  You should already be logged in.  I will give instructions once.  Make sure that you are listening.  You will be required to refer to the class page, if missed (you are late).

Polite  Remember your manners  If you wouldn’t want it said or done to you, please refrain.  It is my goal to treat you like young adults. It a fact that we are treated as our actions deserve.  Cursing – Just Don’t!

Patient  24 students > 1 instructor  When you need help:  please raise your hand  send me a note via Lanschool  or come to my desk.  I will not respond to my name being called out across the room.

Scenario  Alicia was absent for three days. Whose responsibility is it to make sure Alicia has the assignments she missed?  Alicia needs to take responsibility for her learning.  She can find her make-up assignment(s) in the Parking Lot  In the shelves designated by class periods.  1 st, 3 rd, 4 th

Responsible  Take pride in and be accountable for the work you complete in this classroom.  Understand that this is your education and you should do what is necessary to ensure you have all you need.  Submit assignments on time.  Place classwork in the correct location for grading.

Respectful  Be respectful of your surroundings.  Be respectful of yours peers.  Show respect for me as well as yourself.
