3 ATTENDANCE n Be in class on time n School cut/tardy policy will be enforced n Poor attendance will affect your grade

4 ATTENDANCE n Being tardy will result in no credit for the class opening activity partial credit make up available partial credit make up available – print the activity at home from my webpage and turn in the next back to class for 80% credit

5 ABSENCE n Class work missed due to absence which cannot be assigned as makeup will result in N/A - Exempt.

6 BEING ON TASK n Sleeping, dozing off, or doing work unrelated to class will result in no credit for the class activity (video etc.), extra credit Jeopardy review game and etc.

7 BE PREPARED n Bring required materials and #2 pencil each day n No pencil = no credit n NO EXCEPTION Would a policeman go to a robbery with no bullets in his/her gun?

8 CHEATING n If cheating occurs the papers of the involved parties will be given a zero a zero n Parents and/or coordinator will be notified n Contracts

9 GRADING POLICY Based on accumulated point total for the following assignments: n quizzes and tests n classwork n homework

10 n opening activities n extra credit n class participation and attendance

11 Grades will be based on the following percentages: Grades will be based on the following percentages: n “A” Excellent90-100% n “B” Superior80 - 89% ***** n “C” Average60 - 79%

12 GRADING SYSTEM n “D” Below Avg50 - 59% n “F” Failing49% and below

13 THE “A’’ and “B” STUDENT n attends class regularly n completes lecture notes n watches audio/visual material

14 THE “A’’ and “B” STUDENT n participates in class discussion n does not arrive late n does not spend class time in unrelated pursuits

15 “YOUR PREDICAMENT” If you have a question about your grade or missed work, see me after class or send me an email. I can not devote class time to discuss your situation!

16 COURSE CREDIT To receive college credit for the class: n You must have a grade of “B” or higher for a final grade. n You must have a “C” on the final exam

17 HOMEWORK n Homework is due on the assigned day to be collected and graded n LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED n 1 DAY LATE for 50% credit if you were in class on the day it was assigned were in class on the day it was assigned

18 HOMEWORK n Messy work or illegible papers will be returned to be recopied. n If I can not read it I can not grade it! n Take pride in your work. Take pride in your work.

19 HOMEWORK n If you are absent the day it is due, it becomes due the next day you return to class – CHECK ON-LINE n Accept RESPONSIBILITY for your required work and and turn it in on time.

20 QUIZZES AND OPENING ACTIVITIES n Terminology quizzes will be given n If you are absent on the day of a quiz you must make it up on the day of a video within two weeks or you will receive a ZERO.

21 QUIZZES AND OPENING ACTIVITIES MAKE-UP n Check the school calendar to know what days we will have a video and you can make up work that day.

22 TESTS AND EXAMS n If you are absent on the day of a test you must make on the day of a video within two weeks or you will receive a ZERO.

23 VIDEOS n If points were given for watching the film or completing a viewing guide you will receive a mark of N/A – Exempt.

24 ABSENCES  If you are absent go to my webpage and print the assignment.  Complete the activity and turn it in the day you return to class for full credit.

25 UNEXCUSED ABSENCES On the day of any test, or assignment due, will result in a failure for that assignment

26 UNEXCUSED TARDY On the day of any test, or assignment due, may result in a failure for that assignment. Make up OA on line.

27 CLASS RULES n You must be in the classroom before the tardy bell rings n NO FOOD OR DRINK is permitted in the classroom. n This does not include water!!!!

28 CLASS RULES n Students are expected to be respectful and may not talk or disrupt class while a lesson is being presented n Students are to remain in your assigned seats in your assigned seats until dismissed until dismissed

32 CLASS RULES n Sleeping or doing homework during videos will result in a point loss for the video. n Excessive sleeping in class will result in a referral to your GLC. n Reading any material not related to this class is not permitted.

33 CLASS RULES n No radios or cellphones are to be used in class - if I see it or hear it - you get an immediate referral to your GLC. n Use of obscenities of any form, making inappropriate offensive or threatening remarks toward others is unacceptible.

34 CLASS RULES n Personal Grooming: applying makeup, hand lotions, sprays, or brushing hair needs to be completed prior to arrival for class.

35 CLASS RULES n n COPYING WORK FROM ANOTHER STUDENT’S PAPER IN CLASS OR THEIR HOMEWORK IS CHEATING.

36 CLASS RULES n NO CHEWING GUM in this class – if I start seeing it on the floor and/or furniture.

37 CLASS RULES n Failure to follow instructions on tests or homework assignments will result in a minimum 10 point penalty n All assignments turned in must have your name, period, row, and a title – point loss is the consequence
