Mrs. Fawcett Room 223 AP Chemistry

THIS IS A COLLEGE COURSE Hand-holding will be extremely limited. You are solely responsible for your grade. There is no “daily work” or “homework” to bring up you grade. There is no “extra credit”. You must understand and LEARN the material to do well….You’ll thank me on the AP EXAM because it’s a BEAST.

AP EXAMS Hardest one you’ll ever take. May 7, 2012 at 8:00AM College Credit Weighted GPA

Class Rules Be on time and in uniform Eat before you get here No distractions (cards, music, games, cell phones, etc.) Treat others with respect at all times Be prepared for class everyday

MATERIALS If you do not have your materials, you cannot complete assignments. You will earn a ZERO for all work that day and write an essay. You will NOT do well in this class unless you come prepared to work.

Tardy Policy Not in your seat when the bell rings? TARDY We often have quizzes at the beginning of class. If you miss a quiz in tardy sweep, you will get a ZERO! – Tardy sweep, don’t even knock! – 5 th -9 th tardy - write 500 word essay – 10 th tardy - written-up, probable suspension

Absences You are allowed (per semester!) – 4 parent notes – 4 unexcused absences 5 tardies = 1 unexcused absence If you exceed 4 unexcused absences for the semester, you may lose credit for the course!

Absence Notes (1 st block) Notes excusing an absence are DUE to me no later than 3 days after you return to school. Notes should be placed in the designated box. MAKE SURE your name and the date you missed are on the note!! If 3 days have passed since your absence and I have not received a note, the absence is UNEXCUSED!

Admit Slips and Forms to Sign Admission slips, field trip forms, recommendations, etc. should all be placed in the designated box to await signature. Admit slips will be returned by the end of class. BUT….other forms may not. – DO NOT WAIT until the day the form is due to ask for a signature. – Signed forms will be returned by the next school day.
