Presentation transcript:

 I grew up in Jessamine County  I have 7 sisters and 1 brother  I excelled in sports throughout school  I received a football scholarship to Georgetown College  I played football at Georgetown two different times; and  I received my undergraduate and Masters degree from Georgetown College  This is my 14 th year teaching; all at TPS  I reside in Lexington  I’m engaged

 I have two kids who both attend U of L  They both received academic scholarships  My son Devin, is 23 and a senior and my daughter Dominique is a 20 year old junior

 Enter class on time and have a seat  If the door is closed you are tardy, bring a signed note from wherever you came (e.g. from principal or counselor). Enter class quietly, give me note, find a seat, get materials (folder, pencil, notebook, book) and start working.  Write down the Learner Outcome/target and POD from board along with the admit slip or journal of the day

 Discovery skills will be used at all times  When the instructor raises hand, you raise hand, get quiet, and face instructor  When I’m talking or someone else has the floor talking, be respectful by giving your attending skills  Ask questions to clarify and validate unclear information

 Quietly and appropriately greet guest  Appropriately answer teacher phone  Place student work in daily folder  At “5 minute alert” Return student books and folders to shelf

 When you finish an assignment, double check it for your “best” work Compare it to the rubric or check list  Turn assignment over on desk  Complete make-up work if needed  Quietly assist shoulder buddy who is not finished  Assignments will be graded and returned the next day

 We will do group, individual, and whole class activities  Use effective groups skills within group activities

 If your pencil breaks, “quietly” get up and get one from pencil box and return broken one to appropriate box  If you “really” need to use the restroom, quietly bring PPTS to me  Return from restroom quietly and get back to work

 All works must be passed at mastery or approaching mastery (3 or 4).  If assignment is not 3 or 4, it must be redone until it reaches mastery or approaching mastery  4 = Mastery  3 = Approaching mastery  2 = Partial mastery  1 = No mastery

 At 5 minutes before release, We will have a “5 minute alert”  Answer “exit” slip  CA will return your books and materials to correct place  Get room back to way it was when you entered  Get signed process points sheet  Wait at desk for release

 If you have to leave class (bathroom, focus, sick, office, principal, etc) get your process points sheet signed  Sign the sign in/out sheet and re-sign upon return  If you are sick, I’ll call office and they’ll call back for you  If it is something other, we’ll conference with you to solve the problem

 If you receive a FR from me, wait patiently and fill out “FR form”  If FR is not available, we will conference to solve the problem  If you request a VF, we’ll conference, if deemed appropriate, fill out FR form and I’ll contact FR for availability  If not available we’ll conference to solve the problem
